Yeah, I don't get it. This is like calling Regis and Kathy Lee serious journalists... It's a social morning show, not a news show.

I think that perhaps there are simply a lot of people here that like to bash Fox News that have never actually watched it... Fox News definitely has issues, but let's not go overboard here, folks.

Being a masochist, I do watch Fox News occasionally. I watch it and start keeping time until they favor the argument towards the conservative or start talking about the latest "LIBERAL OUTRAGE!" (but will people get the Simpson's reference this time?). I've never made it to the commercial break...

http://www.outfoxed.org/ if you still think that it's a real news station. I think the movie is even available on Google video for free.

That's not to say CNN or NBC or whatever are totally innocent. All mainstream 24/7 news stations are commercial crap, but at least the other one's don't intentionally go out of their way to be biased because Rupert Murdoch sends them memos. Also, not surprised you want to defend Fox, Cing: you're conservative (I've read a post or two). They cater to you, so you're bound to like them. ...What?

Really? What shows have you watched?

And I'm not "a conservative" by any stretch of the imagination. I have conservative views on some issues, but I don't think you can call a pro choice atheist that wants to legalize drugs and prostitution a conservative...

But you're right, Fox News definitely leans to the right. I just happen to enjoy seeing all the other left leaning news sources finally having some competition. The fact that Fox is trouncing them in ratings is something that even haters should enjoy. Competition is a good thing, and I think it'll force the other networks to put out a better product.

First off..I believe I never brought up the Racial Stereo Typing.. It was someone who read into the fact that the guy's NAME (I assume) sounded like (aka Stereotyping) it belonged to a person of the Jewish Faith... and that a person who may have been or is of the Jewish Faith has particular looks...

What we have is people spending too much time on their hand analyzing each and ever think that is said or printed looking to make and issue out of something..

Agree 100%... The fact that we are not talking about MSNBC or CNN tells me something.... Either the critic's are fans of those networks.. OR (and I believe this to be true).. no one is WATCHING those networks... (except my in laws who change the channel every time they come over..Grr.)

Re: Fox News at it again!

We are not talking about MSNBC or CNN because they didn't doctor a photo and present it as stock photography while trying to discredit someone (2 people in this case)

Saying Fox News "leans" to the right is like saying Michael Jackson leans toward children. There's a wide gulf between "leaning to" something and being defined by your tunnel vision focus on that thing.

And if anything, the Fox-Newsification of cable news has just provided us with more sensationalistical bull puckey on ALL the networks, because apparently flashy graphics packages and shiny things and non-sensical 'news alerts' are what attracts viewers. It is decidedly not a better product.

Not that I care, because I don't watch any of the news networks. And going back to an earlier comment no I don't think anyone ever considered Steve Douchey a journalist at all. But as a mouthpiece for Roger Ailes, who as we all know has a very active hand in crafting the network's daily message across all their shows, he's certainly fair game for ridicule, as is their awesome graphics department. F&F is just far less subtle than their other shows, and probably the most obvious example of their (non-?) latent racism. Just look at their treatment of Obama's middle name, their trying to "break" the story of Obama's secret muslim education "Douchey: This. Is. HUUUGE!", the terrorist fist-bump silliness, and so on. All clumsy and hamfisted ways of signaling to conservative whites that this guy isn't "one of us".

Ah yes, because I made the brilliant leap in logic that making a PS of a person with a jewish sounding name to have a huge nose, I in fact must be the racist. The "logic" behind this argument is hilarious.

Hey, lets photoshop a picture of Obama with big lips and a bucket of KFC. Then I'll just call anyone who points out the inherent racism, racists themselves.

It's not like either of these examples are well-known derogatory stereotypes or anything.... I'm just reading too much into it...

It doesn't really look like they did much to his nose anyways. It just looks like they stretched his face down and gave him darker eye sockets.

I'd say something to defend them, but I don't waste my time watching either FOX or their competitors, so meh, who cares.

So you are saying that you KNOW that the picture was done with deliberate intent to be a racial attack? This is part of my problem with so many things now. It is impossible to make fun of any group (other than white men, I guess) because it is racial attack or whatever. And we automatically assume it can't be for any other reason.

Maybe the nose was done just because it was funny? The other guy must have the tall forehead because he is white.. and that is an attack on us white guys! I'm insulted.

Nothing against any particular person (because i see it from all sides, esp. in education), it is just I am tired of EVERYTHING is a racial attack. I tend to give the benefit of the doubt. It seems very few other people do.

I admit that FOX is not necessarily the best news program for reliability. But neither is CNN, MSN or ANY other news program.

So how about we assume that people are innocent until proven guilty and leave the automatic blame giving for the politicians?

The equivalent website for the rest of the "news" media:

http://www.mediaresearch.org/

I'm guessing that there are other watchdog sites that document the "reliability" of these sources. Perhaps others can post links to some good ones.
