Requiem for a Dream, AKA "why I won't be able to sleep tonight" is a story about heroin addiction.

Powerful stuff.

You can watch the movie for free on HULU. The ads are convenient as they give the viewer a chance to stop sweating and squirming in the final act of the movie.

Drugs are bad. Real bad.

The only complaint I had about the movie was a bit too much repetition of Lux Aeterna. If you have not seen this movie, watch it. It's pretty terrifying, to say the least. And with that note, I do not suggest our younger users watch this movie.

While we're at it...

I'd also recommend A Scanner Darkly. The movie is based off of the novel by sci-fi author Philip K. Dick, an absolutely wonderful author. I cannot wait to read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?.

Moral of the story:

-Don't get an abscess and continue to inject heroin in that arm
-Don't be black in a southern state
-Don't get caught with heroin
-Don't abuse amphetamines to make your self look thin
-Don't abuse prescription drugs period.
-Don't do heroin
-You can make a lot of money dealing heroin
-Don't waste your money
-Don't get yourself into a situation where you are doing sexual favors for drugs :/

I liked the movie, terribly depressing, i watched it immediately after my English exam on my ipod, and at the very end i was just like, looking around it was so intense, but it portrays the heroin life pretty well. I liked the parts where they were doing well, but the parts where they were doing bad had to be there, that's the whole movie basically. The film was directed rather well too.

Both - it's horrifying to see that stage of a human addiction. It's also scary that addiction is so powerful that it could turn anyone's life around in a day.

Yes. And A Scanner Darkly is a movie dedicated to all those who he knew personally who died from drug use or were ultimately never the same. Moral of Scanner Darkly was the same thing: Drugs are bad.
