Re: The Sarah Palin corner of the Sandbox!
Only Sarah Palin didn't go overseas. The height of her foreign policy experience was going to the UN and shaking hands. Why didn't they allow camera's past that means they were hiding the actual discussion. There are a couple of reasons for this...
1) Sarah Palin doesn't know anything about foreign policy (she didn't know what the Bush Doctrine was). Barack Obama actually knows foreign policy in theory.
2) Sarah Palin isn't the best public speaker.
Barack Obama went overseas during his campaign didn't he? Those meetings were filmed and he actually did discuss things of substance, even more so than I'd say President Bush.
Also I heard rumblings that Sarah Palin might get dropped from the VP ticket? (McCain wouldn't announce it of course, Sarah Palin would be "stepping down" for family issues, etc.) Anyone else hear something like this? Right now it's little more than a rumor.

Actually, the last I heard was that Biden was going to be replaced with Hillary.

Skud just wants to see her "fine credentials"
So we've all seen the SNL skit with Tina Fey making fun of Palin. I just realized thanks to the clip below that they were quoting her...

Re: The Sarah Palin corner of the Sandbox!
First, let's change to red anything that is opinion.
So to answer my question:
He didn't. OK. I was really just checking. I don’t know much of his history of public service or his duties in congress. I’m reading up more on both candidates.
Opinion. Unless you are telepathic and know what they were thinking. Why didn't they allow camera's past that means they were hiding the actual discussion.
If I wanted to do a similar action, I would say something like:
“Why didn’t Obama release a plan when McCain did? Because he had no clue what to do and he figured it would be easier to attack someone else’s actual attempt at a solution.” That’s a similar move – it is a negative comment about someone with no evidence and is only based on conjecture. Do I think your view has some potential for truth? Sure. But I’m not stating it like a fact. I’m getting sick of this from both sides.
Is that enough? He knows theory. Heck, I know theory in a lot of areas. Doesn't mean I should work in those areas. But that's a sort of moot point. Saying he knows theory seems to me to just be smoke and mirrors to get around the fact that he has no real experience either. McCain knows the theory on how to be a great speaker. It doesn't mean he can be as inspirational as Obama when he talks. In the same light, just because Obama has the theory doesn't mean he won't shoot himself in the foot when a real situation arises.Barack Obama actually knows foreign policy in theory.
That was my point. He had none until he ran. So he was equal to Palin in experience until he decided to make these runs. And was it real experience. Was he really negotiating anything? Was anything really important on the line?Barack Obama went overseas during his campaign didn't he?
Opinion about the comparison to Bush. But did he really discuss things of substance? I’m not sure. Because nothing was being decided. It seemed to me to be just as much of a PR stunt as Palin’s. Because both were simply showing them meeting other leaders. Sure, Obama is a better speaker. Sure, he’s had 2 years of training to get better, 2 years that Palin hasn’t had. Those meetings were filmed and he actually did discuss things of substance, even more so than I'd say President Bush.
What’s your point? I’m trying to ignore rumors and stuff until they are shown to have merit. Sort of like the whole rumors that were around about Obama really being a muslim. I ignored that because there was no proof. Statements like these just get thrown around and serve no purpose. Also I heard rumblings that Sarah Palin might get dropped from the VP ticket?
But hey, we've still got a ways until the election. We’ve got a few possibilities:
a) she shows that she really isn't a good selection
b) she shows that she was a ok selection
c) she shows she is a great selection by using this time to catch up
d) she gets replaced in same way (as you seem to think might happen)
Do I think she is a good of a candidate as Obama? no. But then, she isn't running for President. He is. She is running for the 2nd spot. And she still has time to learn. If we want to do a president vs vice-president comparison then why is Obama in the #1 spot vs Biden?"Sympathy means a lot, coming from Kulmar. I didn't think it was possible.

Re: The Sarah Palin corner of the Sandbox!
True dat.
Seriously, i'm trying to learn more. I am a McCain supporter, but I am trying to learn more about both sides. There are somethings that Obama says that I agree with. But not enough yet. The more I learn, the less likely I am to vote for him."Sympathy means a lot, coming from Kulmar. I didn't think it was possible.

Re: The Sarah Palin corner of the Sandbox!
Are there still people backing Palin in here? Seriously? I was willing to overlook her inexperience on the whim that she was 'a natural,' except it turns out that she's not a natural, she's a fool. That's fine if you want to back McCain's ticket on policy or the issues, but Palin's not your hero here.

Opinion. I could say the same things about Obama. Except he's running for #1 spot. He can talk well, but that isn't enough for me.

Re: The Sarah Palin corner of the Sandbox!
I realize it's opinion, but no, you can't really say the same things about Obama. Palin doesn't talk well - can't explain her own thoughts, especially when they're silly. She can't even explain the thoughts that were implanted by the campaign. Really - you can't be serious here. It's literally like putting a minivan driving soccer (or hockey) mom or dad in the White House. It's not supposed to work that way. This is worse than Quayle. And to come from a campaign that started the whole 'experience' debate, this is a joke - I don't care that much that she's somewhat inexperienced - so what - I'm shocked at how stupidly bad she is at the PR game - interviews and press. Seriously. It's a dog and pony show, and the pony looks great but apparently cannot do any tricks other than look great. That's not a good show.
If I could ask her one question (which apparently I can't), I'd ask if she still thinks the 'life' issue is "THE" issue (as she had written in her email a couple of months ago). Is that the real Palin? Mix that with the Palin on CBS and you've got a political nightmare.

So, apparently Palin thinks dinosaurs and man walked the earth at the same time... 6000 years ago...
