I saw a bumper sticker last week that was nothing more than John Kerry's name in all-caps and blue text with the first two characters of both words in red text.

It made me sad, really. I mean, sure, the bumper sticker was cute and all, but the sincerity behind it was disgusting.

The same goes for this graphic. Ok, har har, I get it. But come on, don't you have anything more important to do with your time than degrade... geez.. EVERYTHING that's degraded in that image?

People need to learn how to show respect in even the most intimidating and scariest moments. Myself included, to be sure. Some people see some politicians as out and out threats to their lifestyle, but that's no justification for disrespect.

I don't play games online, for the most part, unless I'm with people who can treat each other with respect. I wish I could find a political party on a national scale that reliably and enthusiastically offered me the same environment.

Will that ever happen? I mean, is it possible? Politics is numbers driven, and statistics have shown that attacking your opponents (slinging mud), works.

Heck, here in Texas, the people are proud of how dirty their political races are...

I'm sure there's a political science major around here somewhere that could explain this better than I. Historically speaking our politics aren't all that dirty today. In the past it was common place for a newspaper to print abject lies saying one politician is cheating on his wife, or on the take with crime, etc. We're quite a bit tamer than that these days. Either that, or we just don't see the lies and dirty tricks for what they are.
