Re: Islam
Website that specializes in videos criticizing Islam by Christians:
http://www.mahomettube.com/about.php
We try to maintain environment of free speech here for the most part. This even includes a little swearing. Often debates posted here have Muslims cussing us out, and this is the norm for those frustrated by our lack of "respect" for a man we do not deem a prophet, or even a "good" man. So in saying this, we give a little freedom to our guest, as long as every other word isn't profane and the video makes its point. Please don't swear in the descriptions, as these often show on the front page. The two things we will not allow are any pro Islamic videos or any videos that belittle the Father, Son or the Holy Spirit. If you need this freedom, start your own site.Dude, seriously, WHAT handkerchief?

Re: Islam
I love all the points which are presented as facts but are just plain wrong. "Islam is not a religion", "There is no moderate muslim", such BS.

Re: Islam
Any chance you could link to where Bush confused the issue about terrorism and it's origins ?
Or is it just if you have nothing useful to say, bash Bush and move on ?
Ironically, some on the left are asking Bush to comment on the current controversy in NYC.
I wonder why that is ?
Could it be you are just aping things you have heard about Bush and you really have no idea how he regards Islam or what public comments he has made about it ?
I understand, the " Bash Bush" card is set to expire soon ( I don't think it works after Midterms ) and you really want to get your money's worth. One man gathers

Re: Islam
What is the moderate branch of any religion? People just interpret the book differently. If people kept their religious beliefs to themselves, I dont think we would have a problem

Re: Islam
I know plenty of Muslims that don't go around shooting people. Even New York has plenty. The outspoken minority makes the majority look bad, it's true for every religion. I know more radical christians who would kill people based upon the color of their skin more so than any number of Muslims.

Re: Islam
What is the moderate branch of Christianity and where can I find details about it?
Catholicism? Ah, but then the condemning of birth control, etc. And Ted Kaczinski.
Protestantism? Ah, but then the IRA, the Phelps's, the Pat Robertsons, the evangelist fakes like Robert Tilton and Jim Bakker. The slaying of homosexuals in Uganda. Heck, even Methodists got it on in Wales with the Meibion Glyndŵr. I don't know what the Calvanists have done, besides be oppresive against women.
Mormonism? Ah, but then the arranged marriages, the pedophilia.
I guess maybe the Amish or Mennonites, as their religious doctrine expressly forbids violence, even as it comes to preparing/defending themselves in a war or against others.

Re: Islam
Walk down the street in a major metropolitan area. You probably passed a moderate Muslim.
Also, read this. http://slacktivist.typepad.com/slack...e-that-i-.html
If I understand you right, you're taking the phrase "Muslim terrorists attacked the WTC" and choosing to focus on, not the operative word terrorist, but the word "Muslim". We might as well say "male terrorists attacked the WTC" and move to ban any and all men from the site forever, because having men there would be insensitive to the families involved. After all, men are more aggressive than women, so, clearly, it was there masculinity that made them attack it.

Re: Islam
I guess "moderate christianity" would have to be something non-denominational like the Unitarian Universalists, but then, they reject the concept of the Trinity and original sin, and marry off gays.

Re: Islam
Might I suggest, the Mainline denominations? But, judging by your examples and reasons against, I don't think you are are comparing "moderate Muslims" to "X-type Christian" theologically...

Re: Islam
You're right, I'm not. I'm trying to find the counterpart to this mythological entity that Callous and several others I've debated with over the years call "moderate Islam", as in the whole "When will moderate Muslims condemn <terrorist action dujour>" type thing, because every time you point to some leader, there has to be tenuous ties to this and that, or some quote they can pull out their ass that proves (in thier mind) they're really some fundamentalist worldwide Sharia Law advocate.
Also, judging by my experience in a few Baptist churches over the years, they'd be really sore over being lumped with United Methodists
At least the church of my mom's boyfriend I visited would devote hours of Sunday service about the evils of the UM's New World Order type initiatives and how Episcopalians were disguised Papists.

Re: Islam
Well that was standard wasn't it ?
Ask a question about Islam and get a litany BS about another bunch of wackos that worship invisible men in the sky.
When was the last time the Pope ordered someone executed after being whipped ?
For adultery ?

I never mentioned terrorists at all, but go ahead and make up what you think I should be saying so that you counter-arguments still work.
Why bother looking at the facts when you know that you are right ?One man gathers
