Before a full investigation I am predisposed to believe a US Marine in Combat as opposed to those who are attacking him (Al Jazeera et al) Why would you believe the opposite?

Good article

Didn't Senator Kerry win his Silver Star with a "V" for Valor for shooting a wounded vietcong behind a shed? Certain folks' moral outrage seems highly selective.

Re: Anyone heard about a Marine that murdered a wounded terrorist?

Link

"Kevin Sites, the NBC cameraman who shot video of the controversial shooting of a Fallujah insurgent by a U.S. Marine, is an anti-war activist whose photographs of Iraqi prisoners are featured on at least one anti-war website.

Images Against War is one website where Sites' photography appears, giving two separate pages to his work. One of the pages, labeled "Kevin Sites 2," features photos of captured Iraqis with one caption saying detainees on a truck were enduring "a long ride into uncertainty." Most of the photos featured on the site engender sympathy toward U.S. enemy fighters and antipathy toward American military personnel."

After visiting his site and blog I don't really get the feeling that he is all that much Anti-war. There are some hints of it, but for someone who has spent much of his life recording war he seems pretty balanced.

It's sorta relevant. Throw this blog into the mix and think about what's happening on a strategic level with this story:

No, it doesn't affect the actual events, only the motivations for making them public.

If'n youse scroll down a tad you'll see ...

UPDATE: The consensus over at Captain's Quarters is that the 40 vials constitute a sarin gas test kit, not vials of poisons for use as weapons. But they do contain small quantities of sarin, soman and V-agents (VX nerve gas?). The date on the packages indicates that they were manufactured in 1981, though that doesn't mean they necessarily arrived in Iraq at that time. The lettering on the packages is in English, German and Russian, which could mean quite a few things, not many of them good. The photo's caption indicates the vials were found alongside two mortar tubes and three mortar rockets, which tells me that whoever was carrying this stuff around intended to try to weaponize it.

cant say i agree.

Quotes made by others in regards to WW2 I agree with, as well as a grandson to 2 grandpas that were in WW2, and heared some stories from 1, I would say that that marine would have no reason simply shooting the prisoner just for the hell of it.
