Re: 13 rules of gunfighting
This is exactly why I am for a very strict gun control. People with guns should NOT think like this. A gun should be a last option if in a bad situation. This article, or whatever it is, does not portray that a gun should be used in only the worst of situations. Number 6 just makes me want to puke. I mean come on. Youre going to shoot someone before you call the cops? The first thing I would do is call the cops. Unless there is a gun to my head, in which case I couldn't do either.

I must be missing the "fun" in this, because I am offended. Request to move to Sandbox.

Re: 13 rules of gunfighting
Heh, love that quote from Thomas Jefferson at the end.
Solid rules to follow, but it ain't exactly phrased diplomatically. It's clearly for pro-gun people, by pro-gun people. (and as such is going to tick off most anti-gun people)
The point of #6 is that the police are all well and good and we have the utmost respect for law enforcement professionals, but they can't be everywhere. The only thing you can count on being able to help you is yourself. Yourself, and maybe a firearm.Strait /strāt/ (Noun) A narrow passage of water connecting two seas or two large areas of water: "the Northumberland Strait".

Re: 13 rules of gunfighting
The list in the OP is most certainly meant to be tongue-in-cheek, but I agree it should be in the Sandbox.
The last thing any responsible gun owner should ever want to have to do is take another's life with it under any circumstances. Re: 13 rules of gunfighting
It says the "13 rules of gun fighting" not "the 13 rules of personal fire arms and self defense." It shouldn't need to go to the sandbox, but because people get all butt hurt around this topic you may as well move it. Excellent work.
I think its funny.

Re: 13 rules of gunfighting
GiJoe. Seriously? Some people find it offensive to talk like that about guns. The only people who should be in a gun fight are the military and police. And this image is not about the military and the police because it says "but you may be able to save yourself and your family." Generally people in the police and the military don't have their families with them while they are working. The average home owner should NOT be in a gun fight. I don't care who you are. So this is really about personal firearms. Guns should be treated with the utmost respect and to not be joked around with. So yes I did get offended and yes this should be moved to the sandbox.

Re: 13 rules of gunfighting
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Let me remind you ALL that courtesy and respect are required in all forums at TG. Also, remember that you are allowed to share your opinions and personal views but you may not impose your personal views and opinions upon others.
I am extremely disappointed in the tone and lack of civility within this discussion. Yes, it's a rather sensitive issue but that provides zero excuse for the tone and hostility in the replies. Just because someone doesn't agree with you is not license to attempt to reduce them or their views.
This thread is locked and I don't encourage anyone who participated in it to post in any similar threads unless they can read and understand what I've just said.|TG-42nd| Damonte

Re: 13 rules of gunfighting
You know what's funny, people who post things like 'Butthurt' submission forms and ignore warnings about proper forum conduct and then will complain about being pulled up for stuff like that.
I post in another Sandbox thread about conduct, that appears to have been ignored. I really don't like that.
Let me break it down for the hard of understanding. I am the Community Manager for my sins, I oversee the Sandbox and such forums. I really dislike having to explain basic things multiple times, I really dislike taunting, trolling, pointless posts that are the verbal equivalent of spitting. You know, worthless contributions simply designed to fuel arguments and ill feeling.
Let me remind you. If you persist in getting your jollies simply by aggravating others to no end expect to lose your permission to post here at all.
You know what's really scary, people are so comfortable making dumb, adversarial jokes about lethal firearms.
The sandbox is an open forum designed to allow the freeform expression of ideas and opinions, not a gutter for people to forget the basic rules of TG forum conduct.
