The latest from the Political Grapevine:

Applications Approved

The Canadian government has now approved the first visa applications from Americans looking to move to Canada after President Bush's re-election.

Tresey Kilbourne and his family, from Seattle, applied more than a year ago for Canadian visas, planning to withdraw their applications if a Democrat won.

They're now looking for a home in British Columbia. Mr. Kilbourne, quoted by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, says, "With the Republicans in full control of everything, there hasn't been anything that has caused us to think that we weren't doing ... the smart thing."

Well, if they voted and gave their best effort at changing the leadership then they're at least standing up to what they said they'd do. Have to respect that. Personally I'm glad Bush won, now all we have to do is survive 4 years and we're free of him (and hopefully his family) in the oval office.

I am simply disappointed. They didn't get the candidate they wanted so they are leaving. To me, that tells me that they weren't interested in making America a better place, just trying to get what they wanted in life.

So your candidate for President did not win, you can still contribute at the other levels to make America a better place. You can vote for Congressmen, Govenors, State legislaters, local council members, mayors.

You can apply your energy to political and non-political organizations. You can fight against corporate greed. You can fight against the governments inaptitude.

Giving up and leaving the country cause Kerry lost the election makes you pitiful.

Nope, we are all just liberal, tree hugging, animal rights hippies in this community who spend all day drinking at the oxygen bar and getting manicures for fluffy.

No a real liberal would name their dog something "clever" like "W" or "Dumbya" and think themselves completely superior to anyone who didn't find it hysterically funny.
