(I'm not exaggerating.)

Also, you are required by law to move over (to the right), if a faster moving vehicle approaches you from the rear, regardless if they are doing 2x the speed limit or not.

first off the UK is miles per hour not KM.... and ok, not so bad, rule to begin with i suppose i get away with 80 on the motorway.. as for the last bit... i would say that is ridiculous.... let the hot head behind you slow the hell down because he is the one who decides to endanger others with his spped... i think that law is a reversal of justice.

either decide to make an autobarn or expect your citizens to follow th damn law.

Funny you mention the autobahn. I saw a Discovery special on it and statistically they have many fewer fatal/injury accidents than in the States. They strictly enforce the "stay right except to pass" law and they have very few accidents which they attribute to this fact.

No... Forget about the speed limit. It doesn't matter. If you're driving slower than everyone else, then you should be in the far right lane on US roads, so that faster traffic can pass you in a lane to your left. It's not any driver's duty to regulate the speed of any other driver, that's dangerous and just plain stupid (and, again, illegal in almost all, if not all, US states).

I'm sick of there not being enough bike lanes and I'm sick of people driving in them, or even worse, sitting stationary in them in heavy traffic.

Re: Things that you're sick of...

I'm sick of fad diets and profit-driven attempts to sell "health products" to people.

Saw some girl the other day that started a conversation with me at a restaurant over our respective dinners, specifically chewing me out for eating red meat, and out of curiosity I asked her why she thought it was bad. After a long time, she lost the subject entirely and started listing the things she did to stay "healthy", with some gems in there including overdoses of some designer vitamins and some perscription anti-chloresterol drugs. There was no mention of exercise. Seriously people, just don't eat too many sweets, don't eat only meat (Atkins can go to hell), don't touch pills unless you have a medical problem, and get some amount of exercise. Not that hard.

Ok, that seems really superficial after everyone else's stuff. Oh well.

I think the point is that people shouldn't be using their cars as devices of vigilante justice - move over and let the police do their job, you do yours. Maybe he shouldn't be speeding but you shouldn't be in the left lane if there's someone behind you who is going faster.

Just because that other guy is breaking the law doesn't mean you get to.

Anyway, it's not really a problem except a lot of the people who do this seem to set their cruise control to match the traffic 5 ft. to their right.

yeah whatyever, the logic is all wrong on that one sorry, either allow an auto barn which would mean you have to keep up with traffic in that lane or expect people to drive safely, what you need are some motorway speed cameras with a fixed penalty fine to the owner of the car,

No the logic is that you shouldn't be speeding AND you should move over and let faster traffic pass. Period. The law doesn't say "unless you feel that traffic is going quite fast enough, thank you very much" or "unless the guy behind you is a jerk" or anything else. It says move over. So move over.

Indeed. The autobahn and Montana highways are proof of that...
