None by my standards, but by others even "Naked News" would rain fire and brimstone. If you ever get old enough, I recommend you watch the HBO orginal series "Sex TV." If there ever was an excuse to move to Europe, the television shows would be it. Good Lord, the soap operas there are hardcore.
no you dont.... we dont have naked news, thats like holland or some crap, and if there ever was, it was post watershed, what exactly are you refering too, because we cant even swear before 9 oclock watershed.

do not confuse British TV with european TV.

FYI, Naked News TV is broadcast in UK, Ireland, France and Australia. It's available via pay-per-view in many other locations, including the US and Canada.

I meant to be saying "Yes Absolutely I think it's possible for someone to be a patriot and not be religious."

Sorry for the confusion.

Update:
Registration may be required.

Despite denunciation, 'Buster' episode to air
Lesbians: The education secretary condemned it, but the PBS show for preschoolers will run in some cities.
Defying criticism from the secretary of education and their own network, several large PBS affiliates say they will air an episode of the children's show Postcards From Buster that includes a visit to a home with lesbian parents.

I was just putting information out there. I don't really have an opinion on any of this...

As far as I'm concerned, regulating what kids see on TV is the responsibility of parents, NOT the government...

Re: Education secretary condemns public show with gay characters

I agree with that Cing. But part of the issue here is goverment funding. PBS either needs to become self-funding or stop making such provocative programming decisions. Neither be the RAH RAH USA channel nor be the channel that relentlessly drags its viewers in an excessively left direction.

In the REAL world, the people who put up the money to make movies have a voice in how that movie gets made - content, look and feel, etc. But if the government puts up cash for a creative effort - PBS, NEA, etc., then the government is supposed to be a mute cash machine, and that just isn't going to happen. Either the Sec. of Education or some senator or congressman will speak up, as they should. They are trustees of our federal dollars and are supposed to see that those dollars are spent wisely.

Not that they do a very good job of that, but they are supposed to do the job.

And there's the rub right there; I think that Sugartime is a fine program to spend the money on, and you don't. (I'm presuming from the stances you've taken thus far, though you might be playing devil's advocate.)

When the government funds things, it's a public affair: the government was designed around equality and non-discrimination. Were any private interest designed the same way, I'd expect the same from them... trouble is, of course, that most aren't.

Re: Education secretary condemns public show with gay characters

Well that's a good point. Fact is, the Army funds a game about killing people. Same deal.

Well personally I don't know jack about Sugartime. I know that I thought that Mapplethorpe was a genius, but I can completely understand how many people thought that using federal money to fund pictures of homoerotic S&M was a poor use of public funds and a betrayal of the people with strong (negative) feelings on the subject.

I would be curious to see how many of the PBS stations who choose to air this show NOW also happen to be kicking off a fundraising drive.

Well, not quite, I think. I think the difference is that the Army... well... kills people. I mean, their purpose within the government is protection through force; compare that to "the funding of artistic endeavors", and the sameness of the deal sort of wanes, don't you think?

I too can understand people getting up in arms over Mapplethorpe, but I'd still fund him anyway, particularly if people came out to see his work (which they did). In this PBS case, a single person at the top of the food chain expressed displeasure and started talking about financials... maybe that's my main beef with the whole situation.

Aren't they all? :P I can't remember the last time I wasn't bearing witness to a PBS fundraising drive.
