Well, they're not too expensive... The US Border Patrol uses them quite effectively. When used in a network, they're able to detect an animal, person, group of people, or vehicle, which direction it's traveling and how fast.

I'm not sure if they're available for sale to the public, but I don't think they're "classified". It's Vietnam era technology...
