For once I agree with Cing, it's an unneccessary cosmetic 'operation'. Consenting adult that choses to lop it off, great, a newborn or child....how does that even tread near being defendable?

My understanding is that the historical fact behind jews being circumcised, is for health reasons. Bear in mind this is the middle east we're talking about. If such health benefits exist in such a hot environment, it's unlikely to be the same case for scottish or canadian jews.

Just goes to show how religion is unwilling to change according to the circumstances. Catholic priests can't marry, because a few popes in the past have enjoyed rape along with pillage and plunder. How many alter boys would be spared a harrowing experience if the lowlifes in the vatican adapted to the circumstances?

Ban religion. All of it.
