What to do about illegal immigration?
I just read this article and overall it's pretty good. I snipped the "list" part from the article and quoted it here for your reading pleasure:

If you're talking about hot asian girls, though, the big problem is Koreans coming here illegally to be prostitutes. It's ugly when you go to a brothel (massage parlor) and have to process 14 year old girls to be deported back to Korea. It's organized crime at its worst and it's tearing these girls up. Think about what that "hot girl" had to do to come to the United States illegally. It was almost certainly as part of a prostitution/human trafficking organization. This is something that any of you can see for yourself if you want to. Just go to an asian massage parlor in any large city in the US and tell them that you want a young girl. Once you are sickened by the knowledge that the beautiful young lady standing in front of you is probably being held as a sex slave, leave and call the ICE hotline: 1-866-DHS-2ICE |

I like this one : http://www.minutemanproject.com/
It'll be interesting to see what the media does with it.

Their biggest concern, however, is the fact that both drug and human smuggling organizations are becoming increasingly violent. These "minutemen" really aren't trained or equipped to handle a truckful of polleros armed with AK-47s. Border Patrol Agents, of course, almost always carry an M-4 with plenty of ammo and are trained very well on its use (The US Border Patrol always dominates in marksmanship...). Personally, while it would be tragic, I wouldn't mind seeing a wake up call for this country when things get really ugly down there and some unarmed civilians get hurt. People just don't realize how bad things are when it comes to illegal immigration. |

Re: What to do about illegal immigration?
This issue is getting bigger and bigger and no one really seems to have an answer. It is dominating many European elections including our expected election in a few months.

Re: What to do about illegal immigration?
I'd say that take all the illegals that are trying to enter the US and send them to Europe, where their declining population could really use the boost from immigration..
But they are too stubborn there, so as their social security netowork disappears, it will be the US, with it's ever expanding population base (needed to sustain the SS expenditures, among other growth requirements), laughing all the way to the bank. |

I don't know how accurate those numbers are, though, either...

And yes, our economy would come to a standstill if we could somehow deport all 10-15 million illegal aliens that are in our country right now. Obviously we can't do that, though. If you want to see a funny movie with some biting commentary on the pervasive, low level racism that exists in California, rent "A Day Without A Mexican". The premise is that California gets supernaturally cut off from the rest of the world and all the Mexicans in the state just disappear. Some of the scenes are hilarious. |

Re: What to do about illegal immigration?
In terms of our economy, what is the difference between paying a Chinese $2/hour and an illegal $2/hour? How can one be good for the economy and the other not? If anything, at least a little part of the immigrant's $2/hour will be spent here, while NONE of the Chinese's will be spent here.
Also, the money flow that goes to Mexico is completely insignificant compared to our trade deficit, so if you want to complain about something, the deficit is what it should be. And that's the movie I had in mind when I mentioned that. ![]() |
