Re: Riddle

heh, that took me a minute to think of...

the sun?

Edit: can we add to the rules... no googling?

Now that i have given my answer, i will google it to see if i am correct, at which point (if i am wrong) i won't try again because i already know the answer =)

Also, with the permission of everyone, maybe we shouldnt allow people who already know the answer to post.... because that defeats the whole purpose of the thread... is to get people to think and stuff.... dunno if everyone agrees or not =/

Close enough, it's the moon, you're next.

Re: Riddle

Heh thanks, i was thinking either or when i answered it... i thought of saying "the sun or moon" but i thought eh, im only allowed one answer, so i picked a 50/50 and chose sun... lol

You are in the basement of a house, there is ABSOLUTELY NO communication between the basement of the house and the rest of the house.... no sound, you cant see anything (no windows), no vibrations, or anything otherwise....

There is also an attic, with also ABSOLUTELY NO communication between the attic and anything outside it.

There are three lightbulbs in the attic.

There are three switches in the basement.

You start in the basement. Basement is sealed (no communication) untill you decide to go to the attic for your one and only trip.

You must find which switch turns on which lightbulb with only one (1) trip to the attic.

Once you go to the attic, you cant go back to the basement, one trip only.

You may assume that each switch turns on a seperate lightbulb, and that all lightbulbs and switch wiring are functional. (IE turning on one switch will turn on the corresponding lightbulb with no problems)

You have an unlimited time to figure it out.

Re: Riddle

OK, you turn two switches on for a few minutes, then turn the second switch off. When you go upstairs, you'll have switch one connected to the light that is on, switch two connected to the light that is off, but warm, and switch three connected to the light that is off and cold.

A rooster is perched on the very tippy top of an A-frame barn:

On one side of the barn is some hard, dried mud and some hungry hogs waiting for a juicy egg. On the other side of the barn, the egg would roll gently down to a nice, soft haystack.

When the egg is laid, which way does it roll, and why?

Re: Riddle

the egg would land on the side of the barn where a hen happened to be. Unless that's some sort of Super Rooster with powers I don't even want to think about, he can't lay an egg.
