Get the best you can get. And if the company that makes it sucks, just get the vest grudgingly.

I AGREE WITH THIS WHOLE HEARTEDLY, however, i think also considering you saod all the vests do their jobs well, and you dont trust this company.. you have to ask yourself how much you dont trust it.

while it may be the best for comfort, if you dont trust it, it could hurt you in other ways.

The material they use is certified so that they're all equal, or rather, they all meet certain minimum standards and no other claims are made. It's possible that one vest is better than another at stopping bullets, but I'd never know...

Again, the ability to stop bullets is more than just the material its made of. The cut of the vest, the fit of the carrier, and the overall comfort contribute to its effectiveness.

I keep saying comfort and it might not be clear why I include this in a characteristic for stopping bullets. As I said, I don't wear my vest every day. I wear it only when there's a chance that I'm going to arrest someone out in public (as opposed to at their parole officer's office or in a courtroom or jail...). If I'm going to knock on someone's front door just to ask questions, then sometimes I wear it and sometimes I don't. Well, that's how other agents are, anyway. I always wear mine when interacting with the public. And I think that's directly related to how thin, light, and comfortable my vest is. Some of those other vests are thick...
