Re: The new US $20 bill...

i get all excited when i have an older 20 in my pocket. I ussually try really hard not to spend it and keep it for as long as possible, doenst last long. I think the US mint is just trying to catch up with the rest of the world. Some currency is a work of art and is really amazing to look at.

US currency is so boring. Why can't we add animals to it like other countries. Animals are cool.

Re: The new US $20 bill...

If we get enough supporting members, can we put the TG logo on the $50? Or, even better, we could get an $8.95 bill.

I immediately thought of the cool issues that China has made of their gold bullion coins. Very cool looking pandas. Australia has a nice looking kangaroo on theirs. The Isle of Man's bullion features cats. South Africa's famous Krugerrands feature a springbok (antelope).

Our eagles are pretty cool, but what's the deal with so many buffalo? Is that just guilt? I don't feel guilty whenever I order a buffalo burger... Should I?

But anyway, we were talking about currency, and I just thought of gold coins because I was looking at buying some a while back...

Thailand has a Rhino on one of their bills I believe it was Thailand. When my dad was there working for Boeing, he use to bring us money from other countries.

Okay, yeah I was wrong looks like its from South Africa.

This is just like the exact bill I had (or have somewhere).

I have a nice new 50 from the bank. Rare for me, anyway. This pretty. Grant is a sharp looking man on it.

Also, I much like the buffalo burgers!

Re: The new US $20 bill...

I'm OK with the new 20 other than the primary color. It looks as if it's been floating in the bottom of an un-flushed urinal for a few days and then dried out. Why piss-stain yellow?

Re: The new US $20 bill...

Now if only they could come up with currency that our own government can't counterfeit (as in printing more than they have gold to back).

Re: The new US $20 bill...

If I recall correctly, gold and money have lost their connection (aside from a gold market).

Re: The new US $20 bill...

Yep. Now they can counterfeit as much as they want, and claim it's for the good of the economy. (It's actually just a tricky way to raise revenue without the appearance of a tax. "Print" more money (in the form of an expansion of credit).)

which basically makes the "Fed" the most powerful person in the USA, and possibly the world. He controls the value of the dollar and could easily pull the bottom out.

Re: The new US $20 bill...

To see what power the Fed chairman really has, look at yesterday and todays Dow numbers. 50 basis points (.5%) discounted interest to banks turned the Dow around. Oh and what the hell are those little metal bars for any way.

Re: The new US $20 bill...

You can also look at the influence Greenspan's proclamations have had on the market after he left the Fed.

"Little" metal bars?! Ever tried to lift one?

My favorite Doctor Who quote:

"'Eureka' is Greek for 'this bath is too warm'."

Anyone know the reference? (It involves a naked wet guy running through the streets.)
