Projectionests at your local theater are excepted, but are the numbnuts behind the counter trying to sell you a box of candy for $18.95 excepted as well? Let's see just how much you know about FLSA, Juggy. I heard you are "teh mastar"...
Inviting an argument from Juggernaut is to invite a headache

Now in my opinion, I'm in a way underpaid job :P

But Cingularity's point still stands, it doesn't state specifically that minors do not receive a minimum wag nor overtime.

Just because most minors are in the types of jobs you described doesn't mean his point wasn't correct.

Also, there are minors out there that do jobs that require minimum wage and overtime pay. When I was 14, if I worked more than 40 hours a week, I got overtime in my job.

I was 17 when I started working for Walmart. I used to do 60 - 70 hours a week and I got over time pay.

But you're still wrong. That specifically talks about COMMISSIONED employees. In case you don't know what that means, it means the employee receives little or NO hourly wage, and instead receives a percentage of his sales' profits. This is not the kind of job that most teenagers have, as most teenagers simply don't possess the maturity and discipline required to be a successful commissioned salesperson, not to mention the difficulty in dealing with only receiving a hundred dollar paycheck for an entire months work, after making three thousand dollars the month before...

Yes, but did you get every penny of overtime that you deserved? I worked for WalMart for a few months, and I know I was specifically told to clock out and then told to finish up some small jobs. There is a huge class action lawsuit against WalMart, because apparantly this is actually a corporate policy...

Traffic duty? That's not available to all cops... And, just like with the military, a hundred grand is still not enough pay for people that put their lives on the line every day to protect the people that are too cowardly to protect themselves...
Thank you very much Cing for saying that.... I could write an entire PAGE or more on this but I will stay off my soap box and be happy with what you said... Although I would have thought Firefighters would be on that list... considering were the nuts walking in a building that could blow up on us at any second to save others lives and or property. Besides... there is not much an indevidual can do if there house is fully ingulfed in flames... Ya gotta have us...
