I know it's a commercial holiday. Here's a hint, fellas- WE DON'T CARE!
No pressure, guys!
Crap. I was hoping that I could also point out that "diamond wedding rings" are entirely a fabrication of the DeBeers cartel, and the diamond trade has oft resulted in death and poor working conditions for thousands of workers in the name of profit.
But I guess that doesn't matter as long as people feel good.

P.S.- This is also part of the reason I will be doomed to singleness forever. Even with flapping.
P.P.S.- That came out really harsh. No offense was intended.
You try proposing to a girl and having her find out it's cubic zirconia. Good luck!
Eh, the idea is to give her something as a symbol of the strength and longevity of the marriage, right? (Ok, so this idea in itself was basically instigated by DeBeers, but if I'm not giving a diamond I'm happy) Why can't the girl be happy with another gemstone?
Also, there are so-called "lab diamonds" that are...well...created in labs that are much more pure than even your best natural diamond. So far DeBeers has been torpedoing anyone that tries to sell them alongside their diamonds. They are generally cheaper, and apparently people haven't taken to them because of that.
Personally, I just don't think that displaying your commitment to a loving and long-lasting relationship should start by a gift procured by people's suffering.

P.S.- Yes, I am single, and I'm the guy that goes down the street on Valentine's cursing out couples.
There's no woman I'd rather sacrifice for than my wife, and I sure as hell had to sacrifice for that ring. I'm not sure where that falls in the big picture, but it did come to mind.
Sexist BS, that's why... I refuse to tolerate this global conspiracy...
or something like that... Anyway, I have a diamond ring that my wife gave to me and it does mean a lot to me. She was given the diamond by my grandmother and the diamond came from a huge ugly brooch that has been in the family since before they immigrated from Italy (over 150 yrs ago...). I don't know much about the evil diamond industry, but I like my ring.
Bravo Microsoft, you have now surpassed EA in poor decisions and once and for all seized the crown for the worst 'Reveal' ever. That EA were standing there on the stage with you when you did it was...

It is not often that I encounter across myself when researching a topic. I found the following in a recent article on the uses of ethnography in virtual environments:

Took a gamble and got a refurbished 30 GB OCZ Vertex 1 off of NewEgg for the low, low price of $30. Had some trouble getting the drive to be recognized by Windows or by my BIOS. Had to use a jumper...
