I'm not a religious expert, but I believe you can be born a jew. I also have seem a number of references in the past to the nazis having a strong hatred for catholics, in spite of a tolerance for christians in general.

How can you make a personal life-style choice when you lack a developed upper brain? Somewhere along the line, my family was Jewish. They converted to Christianity about a century ago. Yet, I am neither Jewish nor Protestant.

I have French, British, and German lineage: yet I am none of these things. Again: how can you be born into a lifestyle choice?

I'll look into this, but Nazis weren't tolerant of Christianity, they were Christians.

The catholic church has one of the best spy networks in the world. Their priests are everywhere, but their advantage is that most people don't think of priests as spies, not to mention no one else uses ancient latin anymore - the perfect encrypt. Also lots of people forget that *any* information is intel if you know what to do with it. Certainly it's unthinkable that catholic priests in nazi germany didn't let the vatican know what was going on. Ok so they didn't have the internet, but people still used to manage to communicate ya know.

actually i see where you are comming from here, but the final solution was not actually very widely known about in Germany its self. when the troops occupied towns next to concentration camps the inhabitants did not know people were being slaughtered on mass in the camps a few miles away, it is true that the existance of the camps was known about, but to say the pope was authorising these deaths by his silence is incorrect IMO... The British and Americans knew about the camps, they also knew people were dying there, but what they didnt know, was that these camps were staging areas for mass slaughter.

and i dont know for sure but i think the pope would have also not known about the final solution part, concentration camps were not uncommon in this period, i believe they were invented by the British in the Boar War, and their uses served very different purposes, if the camps next door nieghbours didnt know about these deaths, im not sure its fair to assume (with very little evidence to support the facts) that the pope knew about, did nothing about and by default authorised these killings.

i have no doubt that the catholic church did nothing about the initial persecution of the Jews but thats as far as im willing to take it until i hear evidence to change that.

to my knowledge this is what i am led to believe, the Hitler decendents were Jewish, i believe they traced his grandmother as a jew.

but i dont think hitler was a jew.

Re: New Pope Chosen

Well, putting aside the new Pope's past, if he's a stronger voice against Islamization of Europe and the US than he's alright by me.

Full article linked here.
"In line with his call to Europeans to recover their own spiritual heritage, the new Pope opposes Turkey’s proposed entrance into the European Union: “Turkey,” he has declared, “has always represented a different continent, always in contrast with Europe.” But his objection is not simply geographical — in fact, he opposes the geographical oversimplifications that underlie Turkey’s EU bid: “Europe,” he has explained, “was founded not on a geography, but on a common faith. We have to redefine what Europe is, and we cannot stop at positivism.” A Europe newly defined as in some sense a Christian entity may outrage secularists, but a secular and relativist Europe has so far proved powerless against the Islamization of Europe — despite the fact that that Islamization threatens cherished Western notions of the equality of rights and dignity of all people.

Europe, the new Pope has written, “appears to be at the start of its decline and fall.”

Re: New Pope Chosen

i dont agree, he has said this yes, but he has also said how he wants to get all the religions cooperating together, i guess he reads from the bible so he is used to contradictions but that is a conflict of interest it would seem.

further more i think his history should be significant, and whilst im not sure i care i dont think its something to brush asside.

further more, europe becomming "islamasized" if thats even a word, i dont see it, then again, Britain is only in the EU they are not part of mainland Europe, i dont know maybe there is a serious problem with this in some areas of europe. i personaly cant see this.

Britain is geographically europe. The landmass broke away from europe. Turkey on the other hand is mostly in asia, which makes it pretty dumb to allow it membership of the eu. Of course if your plan is to bring about the creation of eurasia, go ahead and let 'em join.

What do you mean "more Islamaphobia"? I'm not actually irrationally afraid of any religion, just the terrorists that want to kill me.

Yes, I actually believe that there is a significant effort on behalf of a militant sect of Islam to exploit western liberalism and tolerance in order to further their stated goals. There are many, many examples of it.

But I don't know what the Pope could possibly do about that.

edit: added your quote

Re: New Pope Chosen

not long. especially suggested by his name Pope Benedict XVI, because Pope Bendeict XV had a fairly short papacy.
