Re: 'Revenge' is the SHIZNIT!!! (Review)
I saw it over the weekend and I really enjoyed it, but it doesn't hold itself to the originals (well star wras and empire - ROTJ was sucky, but still good).
There are a few parts that don't add up, the biggest being why Anakin, who's struggling with the good v evil bit, would suddenly go and slaughter little children. Surely Lucas could've come up with something that filled him with so much hate that he'd do that, simply having the possibility of your wife dying wouldn't be enough - especially since young anaking had been brought up by the jedi council - so most of his youth is spent in the company of the good guys. Also - where the hell did artoo detoo get those rocket jets from. This inclusion is just stupid - or are you telling me astromech droids loose parts of themselves as they go on? Since he didn't have them in the original films, what happened to them? At least lucas lost the slap-stick humour that ruined the first film and scarred the second. All in all, Episode 3 is worth the watch. |

Re: 'Revenge' is the SHIZNIT!!! (Review)
Annie proved once before that his angers gets the best of him, when he slaughtered all of those Sandpeople in episode 2.
Now he hs dreaming of his wife, the only person who he loves, is going to die at child birth, and somebody knows a way to save her life if he just kills the jedi. And then there is the fact that the whole concel didnt trust him as far as they could force throw him and then what the Palpatine said actually came true (that the concel was trying to take over). It all just added up as to why he was so angery, and why he didnt have any problems killing them. He said many times that his loyality lies with the Senate and to the Republic. I personally think Annie is a little emo. Since one minute he is kissing Obi-Wan's ass, and the next he is saying he wants to kill him. |

Naa sorry I don't buy it. It's a vision of the future, not set in stone. The sand people killed his mother - that I can see setting him off but to slaughter little kids for something that might happen and hasn't happened yet? I think there should have been something more sinister.

The Council members were not "Good Guys" per se. They were a bunch of arrogant and elitist old men who thought they knew everything. And they got their asses handed to them in the end. At every turn Anakin is shown how these "Good Guys"™ seem to be no better than the Sith they are hunting. Then he watches as Mace is about to slaughter, in cold blood (from Anakin's perspective) one of the few people Anakin trusts. Perspective people. Perspective of what you see. Quote:
And R2's rockets could have been damaged from use over the next 20 years he was in service. And with a civil war going on, getting rockets fixed on an atromech droid would be low priority. I personally believe it had more to do with some highly-specialized and condensed rocket fuel he needed and it just wasn't available or they wouldn't waste it on R2 because he just didn't need it. My point was: Don't make the films out to be more than they are simply because Star Wars is in the title. Poor acting, crappy characters, shoddy storyline....Big Explosions....Fancy F/X!!! I'm not blinded by Nostalgia...or letting any preconceptions get in the way....I just know a bad film when I see one.

In attack of the clones he just had them, and in 20 years i would expect astromech technology to have increased. Also, if they were broken then why would they not be fixed? The rebels have the ability to do that and rockets would be an important part of an astromech droid - Why would they not fix it? And as for fuel, I disagree - artoo units are made in their thousands, why would they use a rare fuel source? That doesn't make sense. As for the council members, yes they were good guys. That's why they used the light side of the force and had suspicions about palpatine. Anakin isn't shown how they are no better from the sith, he is manipulated to think that. Anakin killing Mace I can see happening, but I can't except the slaughter of all those children being the product of the thought of loosing his wife. |

We're not even sure those rockets are standard issue on an astromech. Considering, Anakin built a protocol droid at the age of 6 with spare parts: I'd bet he could add rockets to R2 with little problems. Quote:

As for something becoming rare: do you think rubber is a rare commodity? Or unleaded fuel? Now, ask the same queston when WWII was at it's peak. A galactic civil war spanning 20 years will take it's toll, especially on an under equiped rebel faction. Now, what could use that fuel more? An astromech, or say a landspeeder or x-wing? Quote:
Ask an American who the "Good Guys"™ were in the American Revolution, then ask a Brit. Quote:
I also don't see why people seemed not to care about Anakin slaughtering Sandpeople, but a few kids (who embody all Anakin hates) are a huge deal. "Sandpeople were savages," which is the exact same justification that Anglo settlers used to justify killing Native American women and children.

Re: 'Revenge' is the SHIZNIT!!! (Review)
To build on what Fenix said. Palpatine told anakin that the Jedi want to take over, which was "proven" to Anakin as soon as Windu was about to kill Palpatine. In Anakins mind, he had to kill those kids, simply because if he didnt, then the Jedi's will try to take over again or better yet, try to kill the only person who trusted him (Palpatine). Anakin didnt want to kill those kids, but he had to. To save his friend and mentor, and to save his wife.
Palatine has Anakin by the strings. Thinking more on it. I personally believe his vision of his wife dieing were bull****. Something Palpatine implanted into his mind to push him over the edge even further. He had a vision his mother was going to die, and she did, he is "dreaming" that his wife is going to die, so naturally she is. |

His visions were correct, (not BS) his wife DID die...the ironic thing is that it was by his own hand! Dirt013 Where's Root on this subject? How can you resist getting involved? |

Re: 'Revenge' is the SHIZNIT!!! (Review)
Thats the question you have to ask yourself thought. Would she of died if he made different choices? She died by his own selfish acts. If he wasnt being so selfish, whould she of still died?
