In Video, Officer Runs as Partner Is Shot, Police Say

Time to look for another job.

The first thought that rolled into my head was the beginning of "Scary Movie" where James Woods comes into the room with the possessed girl, says "**** this" and tries to run off, being stopped by Andy Rickter (sp).

Question though: is this an acceptable show of force for a police officer? Did he react to hastily? I don't know. Maybe he would have been better served to ask, in a calm voice, "Sir, please stop shooting my partner repeatedly with high-velocity handgun rounds or I will be forced to flee the scene."

Ok, the officers come up on both sides of the car. The gunman points the gun out the window, shoots, then gets out of the car and continues to shoot? The second officer could have stopped it right there. Instead he ran.

So instead of only one bullet being caught by the vest, the perp had 4 more opportunities to plant the first officer, while his partner hid behind a car.

Turn in your gun and badge.
