Re: I expect you to die, Mr. Bond

I thought they were looking for a "young bond" since Casino Royale was the first book.

I think that Orlando Bloom would have been a good choice or is he too young?

Re: I expect you to die, Mr. Bond

Daniel Craig is a very good actor and I suggest you all see layer cake before criticizing him. I'm also going to stress that word, actor. The guy is playing james bond, not daniel craig. Just like rs_al said, it's not as if an actor who rapes a person in the movie only chose that role because he likes rape. And really, you're laughing at the guy because he doesn't like something that kills people. Where's your decency?

I always find this humorous coming from ANYONE in this community... Actually, we're laughing at the guy because he doesn't like something that saves people's lives....

But, IRregardless, he looks like a panywaist that is not going to be able to pull this off. He just doesn't look like a James Bond. And Bond is all about attitude. Will he have it?

Re: I expect you to die, Mr. Bond

He most definetely does have it. Seriously, watch layer cake and you will see. I couldn't think of a better choice for the next bond and couldn't be happier. You're judging him by the one picture you have seen, that's just ignorant.

About the guns, ya they may save lives in whatever retrospective you hold but simultaneously they're also destroying lives. I'm not going to argue about that anymore because were not going to reach a conclusion but if you read the article the guy said he doesn't like guns because they kill people (which they most definetely do). How many people have you known that have died as the result of a gun when they didn't need to (exclude war here). If the answer is 0 you should really rethink your opinion. It's much easier to support something you haven't been affected by. And I do understand you're from texas, so you have my sympathy.

And they're video games man, they're not life.

Eh, I'm 26 (I think). Movies like that, yes, I watch all the time. Dirty Dozen, Kelly's Heroes, Pale Rider, Hamburger Hill, almost any John Wayne movie. They're all pretty unique and likeable. Bond, though, it's pretty much the same thing time and again. I can actually stand to watch some of the early ones, but there comes a point where it's the same thing rehashed to a different color car. There's only so many "this pen is really a gun" gimmicks that I can take.

Re: I expect you to die, Mr. Bond

Imagine that the guy who's playing a race car driver announces *before the movie comes out* that he hates cars because they're unsafe and they pollute.

Is this part of a marketing campaign? I don't think so. At this level, actors are NOT just actors, they are also marketing and salespeople for $100 million projects and the bossmen care about results.

I don't doubt that homey is a good actor and a tough guy. So was Timothy Dalton. And I'll definitely see this movie. I'm just skeptical about how many shots at the role he'll get. Never Say Never Again Again.

You've also got to remember that the movie isn't starring the walter ppk, it's starring james bond. The gun isn't that intrical part of the movie especially since they're making casino royale. It's not the 'how many things can i blow up' in the alloted time frame james bond movie.

It's either that or give up the remote for "Vaccum these Carpets" on the House Cleaning Network.

Same with any Bond movie. I watch 'em every time they're on. The old ones anyway. Buy a ticket? Hell no!
Replace "Battle of the Bulge" with Blazing Saddles, and "The Green Berets" with "The 7 Samurai" and then I can relate.

David Niven and Woody Allen already did that movie. I'll be shocked and happy if the movie is good and successful.

Blazing Saddles is a classic and totally misses the point: we're talking about bad movies that you watch any way.

Where the white women at?

I watch the 7 Samurai ever time it comes on the tv too. Which is never. What station have you seen it on? I just have the criterion dvd

Now The Magnificent Seven is on often enough. One of my favorite movie lines ever:

Calvera: What I don't understand is why a man like you took the job in the first place, hum? Why, heh?
Chris: I wonder myself.
Calvera: No, come on, tell me why.
Vin: It's like this fellow I knew in El Paso. One day, he just took all his clothes off and jumped in a mess of cactus. I asked him that same question, "Why?"
Calvera: And?
Vin: He said, "It seemed like a good idea at the time."

Right, it stars James Bond (which I would argue includes his martinis, Walthers and Aston Martins...), NOT some loser that tries to ruin the ability for me to temporarily immerse myself in the world of spies and secret agents. James Bond is bigger than Daniel Craig. I'm sure that since his interview he has been harshly reminded of that...

If you guys are so closed minded to put down the guy before you've seen him act, all based on one opinion that differs from yours, I just feel sorry for you. You really have to see how sad it is that you're letting him ruin the movie for you because he doesn't like guns. I just wish I had the ignorance to look at a picture of a guy and say he sucks.

Re: I expect you to die, Mr. Bond

I don't care if he likes guns or not. I think he's shooting his mouth off in a way that will hurt the marketing of the film. It's not a matter of being closed-minded, so don't call names.
