I hate xmas. +rep to Ron.
(I hate the implication that one should only give gifts and warm feelings one day of the year. I love to surprise my friends and family all year round, but for November and December, I tend to save it up.)

Re: And the A-hole of the year award goes to
Unneccesary and Vulgar means of expressing opinions are what make this so questionable.
The noose to me is a symbol of hatred. If I see anything in a noose it means to me that the person who put it there has much more than a protest of them, it means that there is extremely hostile intent and should never be taken lightly. There is no shred of decency here. I don't care if you hate something, but don't horrify others because of it. Also, there is no rule written that says you cannot celebrate the holidays and still be able to surprise your friends and family at other times of the year.

Did the guy not consider just putting a huge poster up that said HUMBUG? I guess some people have a need to upset others whilst putting their point of view across.
Oh well, only a few more weeks and we'll have the damn thing out of the way for another year.

Sorry, I guess I hadn't read any special symbolism into the noose. It struck me as similar to the Far Side cartoon in which the whole sleigh is splattered across the front of a jumbo jet.
I so look forward to January 2, when the peace and quiet of normal shopping patterns returns.

It's a form of expression, people. He has a cynical view of the "white Jesus" world, which is probably the ironic symbolism. It's probably not appropriate, but I find it quite funny in a dark sense.

Haven't we fought wars to protect the rights of those we disagree with? Would not messing up his house dishonor the work of those patriots?

Re: And the A-hole of the year award goes to
I'm drawing my conclusion from the aparent symbolism. It could be meaningless, but it seems to have too much of an ironic twist to be completely random.
