Quoted to emphasize the importance of your statement. And to ask if anyone truly thinks otherwise?

Re: Gun Control

Indeed not.

I also find it interesting that so many U.S. politicians today want to ban "military style" firearms, and yet in United States v. Miller, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the shotgun in question was not protected by the Second Amendment BECAUSE it wasn't a military style firearm.

Re: Gun Control

Absolutely agree with Fenix's statement. Assault rifles are used in only about 1% of all gun crimes. The banning of them was merely a symbolic step to desensitise the public to broader gun control. They were singled out because it was relatively easy to convince the majority of lemmings, I mean pansey citizens who trust others to form opinions for them, I mean just plain citizens that they were only useful for killing humans. The funny part is, IMO, the only real reason one needs any gun is to kill a human. Safeway provides all the food I need.

Ironically, I would like to see hunting outlawed except for species control. I like animals much more than I like humans. j/k(kinda)

Since assault rifles account for 10% of all police-related gun deaths, I am surprised that cops(Cing) aren't against them.

Hmmm, I've never killed any humans with any of the guns I own.

But if the only real reason a person needs a gun is to kill a human, how would humans use guns for species control?

I said "need". Do you own any guns? If so, why? Do you need to hunt for food to survive? Just curious.

See, the mistake you made here was to take a joke and try to make an arguing point out of it.

Sorry, I should have said I wasn't arguing. Sarcasm can be a dangerous thing.

My guns satisfy my needs, whether they be food, protection, or the pursuit of happiness. My needs may not be the same as your needs.

Gun control advocates seem to forget PoH a lot. Consider those who go for "Sunday drives" or who take the family to the amusement park, and accidentally kill someone on the way there. (This happens all too often.) Should we outlaw recreational driving, because we don't "need" to go some place? I hope not.

Click here to see how "assault rifles" account for murders. Refresh the page often, as YOU could be the one to spot and report a murder committed by an assault rifle!

Re: Gun Control

We were talking about "assault weapons" and I just came across a great old video that does an excellent job illustrating how the "assault weapons" ban was merely a feel-good piece of legislation. Take special note of how he turns a beautiful wood-stocked sporting rifle into an evil black assault rifle!

I love that site, I point everyone I hear blaming guns for violence to it.
