He's always said he won't leave the rights to anyone. It's his intention that the vision dies with him. That's rather silly. Either he leaves the rights to someone, and the vision continues with someone in control, or the fanbase goes absolutely nuts producing stuff with no-one in control, and we'll get all sorts of widely conflicting plots which will lead to a complete mess.

I'd like the "mess". It lets the fans choose who's vision to line up behind. Very similar to the way open source can fork and people can choose the solution that best fits their needs.
