This is exactly true.
It hasnt aired on TV either in the US or UK.
Since ads like this are not vetted, it can not be "banned" unless a complaint was upheld from an advertising standards authority.

It was "reported" that Microsoft had "banned" their ad agency from releasing it, but, like the VW ad, it leaked out and made much (needed) publicity.

BTW, many in the UK will see the ad as being a total rip-off from a comedy sitcom called "Spaced" where a sketch very similar to this was done a few years back.

Re: Banned X-Box 360 commercial?

Sorry to reply so late to this but yes, this is exactly true. I have gone through this "zero tolerance suspension" problem from a defensive point of view.

A year or two ago Banano was suspended under this same zero tolerance policy for defending himself in a little scrap. I told him as long as he wasn't the instigator of the fight and was only defending himself I'd absolutely stand behind him. No way I'm going to punish him for defending himself and sticking up for his own personal rights and self esteem. The policies are just ridiculous these days, I don't know how kids are supposed to develop properly in that "personal interaction void" of an environment.
