Re: I pwn noobs

It just makes me laugh. The person saying that, or things like it is:
a) mocking the existance of such phrases
b) trolling for dollars
c) serious - in which case it is really really funny

Its really scary when you see kids saying it in daily normal life at school rather than just on the internet. Its incredibly difficult to resist slapping someone that says "pwned" at school.

Re: I pwn noobs

i think TG is a different type of 1337. We are leet in the fact that if a person comes to our server, "newbie" we take our own schedule of play, push it aside and make sure that new player is guided and shown. Seriously we at TG have raised the bar for 1337 play. Ive had comments toward TG that makes me happy im here and wear my tag. When i can join a new game and tell the leader or who ever is running it im new and need help and i actually get it, thats something to be 1337/proud about

In Wulfyn's defense, he did use it right in another thread, at least in terms of my driving skills (also see my sig):

More than the phrase "i pwn newbz," i just hate the word "pwn" and all of it's derivatives. I mean, just look at my avatar!

Yeah, same problem here. But slapping? Quick push onto the train tracks, more like it.

Exactly! One or two of those, if left unchecked, will start to make me think that I'm a good player. Gunrack, you served TG well

Re: I pwn noobs

I hate seeing idiots constantly insulting other players in game saying things like "Idiot, noob, retard, moron", etc. Insulting fellow players is not very TG-like.

Re: I pwn noobs

My boss and I used to counter people's leetspeak with long drawn out phrases that said similar things. "I despise your complete lack of skill which ultimately allowed me to render your body lifeless with almost no effort of my own, taking nary a wound myself."

People were entertained, in the least.
