Re: U.S. fires on Iraqi wedding party

"Actual facts"?

Sorry, I'm not familiar with that conecpt when it comes to press releases on either side (Us or Iraqi).

Is the famous Iraqi information minister we all laugh at really that much different than the Coalition's public relations department?

Re: U.S. fires on Iraqi wedding party

Yes. There's a big difference. Facts are facts, actually. When the Iraqi information minister lied, he was found out because what he said was not fact.

When the Coalition speaks, it knows that every reporter on the planet and many in Congress are eager to catch them in a lie. All have been taught to "not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do."

If one is an optimist, then believing in the honor and integrity of those people serving this country is a good position.

If one chooses to be cynical and worldly on this matter, then how stupid is it to pick as one's horse the side that has consistly been caught in lies, has consistently used holy sites as cover, and has consistently used innocents as cover or deliberate targets, and takes CREDIT for suicide bombings?

If the US messed up, stay tuned, the reports will come out. If they didn't, then stay tuned and don't be the first kid on the block to trash their name.

Re: U.S. fires on Iraqi wedding party

A soldier serving in Iraq said today on the radio that almost every Iraq has an automatic rifle and/or pistol.

Yeah, it's pretty rediculous that they've been allowed to keep them and fire them in celebration... it's pretty conflicting.

Privately owned firearms could have made this whole situation avoidable if somebody had put a bullet in Saddam years ago.

and why is that because when it went down in history you wanted the stars and stripes on the savior of the world...

actually thinking about it we have been dealing with violence similar to this on a smaller scale for 50 years and more recently with still srving officers the last 20 years the most with the occupation of northern Ireland.
