Man blames drugs for gambling habit. Loses $14 Million at Casino
I have a good idea of how this one is going to end... Max Wells began to take Requip for Parkinson's disease and proceeded to gamble away $14 Million dollars. Max claims that the medicine set off a compulsive gambling spree.
Here is the story... http://www.statesman.com/news/conten...asinosuit.html Lucky Shot |

Apparently he was on another drug for Parkinson's before this that did the same thing. Methinks that he just has a gambling problem, heh.

It's an interesting case. I saw the headline yesterday and poo-poo'ed his case but then I read it...
This is a terrific case for the lawyers. Should drag out for many thousand billable hours. |

I wonder just what the responsibility of the casinos are in general. They will serve you alchohol, which impairs judgement, and haven't been sued over that(or at least not to the point that they don't serve alchohol)...
Also, why isn't he sueing his Dr? He reported the problem, and the Dr switched to another drug that in clinical trials had set off compulsive behavior as well, and there was no mention in the article of the Dr following up on his prescription. Yeah, after reading it, it actually is kinda interesting... |
