Thumbs down Re: The Draft's Coming

This is almost amusing...

Hmmm... who sold them those weapons? Who supported that regime? (even AFTER the attacks on the kurds)

please, go find a family who has lost that spot at the dinner table, and spill that nonsense to them, let me know what their response is.

I'm not buying it yet. You sound like you have full support of these guys tho.

heheh... no, instead, we put saddam's old guard in charge. (on the us taxpayer payroll as well)

Umm.. the way I read this, they are withdrawing the court order to arrest him to appease he and his followers, so in a sense, we are saying "well, there's evidence you had someone killed, but hey, you're a nuisance, you can go now"

Re: The Draft's Coming

all I can say is we have a new war on our hands. before we hand exact enemies, Russians and the US. We had borders, we had differences. but we knew who our enemies were. the cold war.

Today, we have certain enemies but things aren't really too clear. some things are clear, alot that isn't. there are no borders, these terrorists, the new enemy, are all over the place in this world. they are hidden and hard to find. We catch a bunch of em' here, only to find a new arm of thier ops somewhere else. We kill a high up leader of the terrorists, they'll do as we do in the military and promote someone to fill the gap. they use our internet to transfer funds to finance terrorist training. they are well trained.

It's easier to attack a target than to defend that target. they are able to blend in to our society and operate quietly. Yes we DID catch that terrorist trying to setup a training camp for terrorists in Oregon, but that's just the tip o' the iceberg. I liken these terrorists to cockroaches. you can decimate vast amounts of them, but they are a bitch to eradicate. persistance is the key, sticking to your guns.

The face of war has changed

You can make your points without the dripping sarcasm. It's disrespectful and hurts your argument more than it helps. It's hardly friendly.

All of these points have been hashed out over and over again. Clearly people have made their minds up. For the life of me I can't see how sneering and disrespect passes as intellectual superiority.

So why was a "US sniper" shooting at an eight year old girl and what is his beef against the Kurds? Sounds like this guy has a lot more issues that it seems.

By the way, I think we have gone way off topic (draft to Iraq today to past history of foreign relations with Iraq).

Re: The Draft's Coming

Appears that Colin powell is tired of all the crap. Now he's being forthright about the truth of our not finding a smoking gun.
