Re: gas prices ?
2.10 here in MD, gets higher the closer you get to DC or Baltimore.
I can spend anywhere from 50.00 to 70.00 a week in gas alone. I need another job just so that I can afford to go to my job. Its silly. And yeah, I think that if we had those wells in Iraq gas would be cheaper, not skyrocketing in price like it is currently. Sorta shoots a hole in that 'War for Oil' bullcrap that went on a bit ago. |

Re: gas prices ?
These numbers are four years old, but probably still relavent. From here.
Most expensive per gallon: Hong Kong: $5.38 London, England: $5.05 Oslo, Norway: $4.54 Seoul, South Korea: $4.52 Paris, France: $4.28 Least expensive per gallon: Caracas, Venezuela: $0.40 Jakarta, Indonesia: $0.45 Kuwait City, Kuwait: $0.76 Manama, Bahrain: $0.82 Abu Dhabi, UAE: $0.92 And this from here: Gasoline prices paid at the pump have been on a steady rate of decline since the 1920s, with the obvious exception of the 1970s, when we faced an OPEC embargo and gasoline lines. In 1920 the real price of gas (excluding taxes) was twice as high as today. Electricity prices were about three-times higher 75 years ago. If gas prices were as high today as they were in the late 1970s, we would now be paying about $6 a gallon for gas. |

I'm just east of the city, and $2.06 is the most I've seen around. A fair number of places are sticking to their $1.99 guns, god bless 'em. Matter of fact, I just drove up to Pittsburgh and back this weekend, and $2.06 was the most I saw, even at service plazas.

Re: gas prices ?
Of course if everyone drove cars that didn't do crappy miles to the gallon you could save more of your money (oh and the environment but who gives a damn about that, right). Anyone who drives a gas guzzler and complains about petrol prices just makes yourself look silly imo.
