So are you saying the whole film was based on lies? I don't remember him saying that lockheed made nukes but somebody has to do it? Lockheed are one of the largest arms manufacturers in the US are they not? Do they not provide component parts?

I didn't see it quite that way. I dont remember anything about "nukes", just the rockets that deliver various payloads.

I saw it more of a portrayal of : "Dad makes rockets at work, and those rockets go off and kill bad people" and the effect that has on the youth in the area. (if he can kill bad people, I can too? or something to that effect)

I guess it's all in how you approach it. I saw the film as a commentary on the american infatuation with violence. Sure, editorial liberties were taken, but it took a real hard look at some of the issues we have in this country that others choose to gloss over.

Which is why I look forward to this film. I probably wont feel happy and comfortable watching it, but I can bet that I will learn something.

Reading through some of it the author seems to get a little too nit-picky in areas.

"While we're at it: Bowling shows footage of a B-52 on display at the Air Force Academy, while Moore scornfully intones that the plaque under it "proudly proclaims that the plane killed Vietnamese people on Christmas Eve of 1972."

The plaque actually reads that "Flying out of Utapao Royal Thai Naval Airfield in southeast Thailand, the crew of 'Diamond Lil' shot down a MIG northeast of Hanoi during 'Linebacker II' action on Christmas eve 1972." This is pretty mild compared to the rest of Bowling, but the viewer can't even trust Moore to honestly read a monument."

B52's do not engage in a2a combat. It is quite possible that after it shot this plane down it went on to do a bombing mission, in which case moore would be right - does he need to read the plaque line for line - he's trying to make a point in the film. The author is clearly biased against the film as a few other of his insights take thing too literally and completely miss the point moore is trying to put across.

However things like the denver speech, cold hands stuff, that isn't exactly cricket as it looks as though, from the film, that the NRA booked the meeting shortly after the shooting.

On saying that to get one's point across, which is gun violence in america, shock tactics need to be used to make people think. Do you think the film would have made an impact if he hadn't used those tactics - would the message still have gotten out?

I agree that this isn't a documentary - I'm not sure what you'd classify it as and I don't really care. I don't watch films because they got an oscar and I don't watch the oscars lol.

I'd be interested to see what moore has to say about this website, a pity that won't happen really isn't it?

A documentary is a film that presents an objective point of view on a historical event. When there are differences, the documentary is suppose to point out those differences.

Michael Moore uses facts that support his point of view, disregards any facts that counter his arguement, and edits/cuts out/changes facts around that counter his arguement.

Paying to watch his "documentaries" is the same as supporting his work. If he wants to present a 2 hour editorial on his viewpoints, by all means he is free to do so, but calling what he does a documentary is wrong.

well i think this guy is classic, he critisizes the media fpr making the propaganda a hollywood theme, however he is quite happy to fabricate ( in some occaisions) and embelish the truth to (baisically) sell his movie...

No I don't think it is OK but then that's in an ideal world. As far as I see it most people are blind and/or stupid and it seems these tactics are the only way to get people to jump on the wagon whatever side of the fence you sit.
