Heh heh. that's why I keep an emergency "Save us, Will Smith!" kit in my closet. It consists of two pairs of Nikes, a case of Pepsi, a bottle of Calvin Klein's "Sweet Smell of Success" and a contract reuniting him with DJ Jazzy Jeff for when the CK runs out.

Principles of good Sandbox Etiquette:
Assume good faith - Be polite, please! - Work toward agreement. - Argue facts, not personalities. - Concede a point when you have no response to it, or admit when you disagree based on intuition or taste. - Be civil. - Be prepared to apologize. In animated discussions, we often say things we later wish we hadn't. Say so. - Forgive and forget. - Recognize your own biases and keep them in check. - Give praise when due.

Treat others as you would have them treat you

Re: human body can do some ridiculous things

Speaking as someone who works in the robot business, "robots" are designed to do one task optimally. Humans evolved to do anything needed for survival (speaking over eons of species) adequately.

I expect that when the Singularity happens, we'll see a mix of fixed-location intelligence and "despecialized" general purpose robots as our successors. But what problems are best solved by such general purpose robots that we need to work in that direction? They have to be problems that occur under hard-to-control conditions, perhaps in agriculture or mining. General purpose robots aren't particularly useful on a factory floor.

Re: human body can do some ridiculous things

I'm going to be fifty years of age by the time residential robotics becomes cheap enough for the mainstream consumer...

But when that happens, you better believe that I'll be ready to modify my robot to all hell.
