Re: Music

Yeah, they're definitely a great band, and even better live than on record. Perfect mix of precision playing and energy. And headbanging to March of the Fire Ants never gets old.

Check out Freestylers feat. Pendulum - Painkiller.

Also, a band called the Klaxons are getting quite big in the UK. They are kind of dancey music and it's pretty good.
Love 'em all. Pendulum are becoming heard in more mainstream circles hear, and their tracks are incredible. The sample in Fasten Your Seatbelts always does something for me..

Re: Music

This is one of my favorite threads.

Well, my brother in law has finally gotten his music protected enough that he's willing to share it with people, and, just getting started, he's got a MySpace page: http://www.myspace.com/pearls2swine

If you listen to the song Kory's Prayer, that was written and recorded overnight when my cousin Kory was involved in a serious accident a couple of years ago. He still can't walk unassisted. Even ignoring the personal aspect of the lyrics, it's one of my favorite songs that my bro has done...

So... Tell me what you think! I think he's pretty good. Good enough that if he does the right song and gets the right exposure that I'll be watching him on MTV soon...

Re: Music

My band just put up a couple rough demos on our myspace page. They still need to be mastered but it gets the point across (I hope!). It's harder/angular music in the vein of Quicksand, Fugazi, or Drive Like Jehu. If you've never heard of any of those bands, you probably won't dig it, but if you have, check it out and let me know what you think. I play bass, by the way...

Re: Music

I like it a lot; definitely has that D.C. hardcore feel to it. Pretty heavy music for a beatnik to play The recording is also very well done, with a nice and thick guitar sound. You guys should totally send the demo to Dischord, I can definitely picture you on their roster.

As long as we're on the subject of post-hardcore, this: http://www.myspace.com/saetia is probably the best "screamo" (god I hate that term) band ever, and the biggest obsession of mine right now. Shame they broke up after one album and a couple of EPs, but it's great rainy day music. I've also been hooked on Sunny Day Real Estate's debut album Diary as of late. If you're into older Weezer or bands like that, you might appreciate SDRE as a bit more complex incarnation of the power pop/emo sound.

Re: Music

The singer for Radiohead started a side project band. I dont know much about them, but my brother uploaded one of their songs. Pretty sweet.
