No, what I'm trying to illustrate is the inclination of our county toward the old slave owner mentality. They want to maintain that poor people are a lower class and have a diffrent set of human rights.

The relatively small amount of money that goes to immigration enforcement is simply not enough, and that's where you're right. It's because certain industries want their cheap labor. It's not just big business, either. It's the American people at all levels that want their lawn mowed cheaply, that want cheap food in restaurants, that want cheap home construction, etc.... The "ten dollar head of lettuce" may be a myth, but stricter enforcement of our laws will raise the cost of labor, whether we simply deport all the illegal aliens, or give them status with a guest worker program so that they're no longer afraid to report their employers that violate labor laws.

This problem may seem simple, but it's not. And the reason that it's not is that we haven't been seriously enforcing our laws for the past thirty years. Ever looked at old laws that seem silly because they haven't been enforced in our lifetime, but are still on the books? There are people alive now that have never seen our immigration laws enforced. Believe me, these are laws that need to be taken seriously.
I understand its millions of people, but when I think of the countless videos of people coming across, and it's usually five or ten people with their napsacks. I would think that would be the first thing they can stop with our nations power. It's really an embarrassment.

It's a dangerous and disgusting habit. I guess the only real answer is to cut the cancer off, even if we loose an arm. I wonder if we will ever have a leader who has the balls to do it.

You've completely lost me here... Why would our country want to maintain a lower class in another country, when that country is the source of many of our country's immigration problems?

I refer you back to this post to educate yourself. Do you have any idea how long our border with Mexico is? Do you know how few Border Patrol Agents there are to patrol it?

This isn't something that any one leader can fix. This will take an attitude adjustment in Congress. Hopefully things will change this fall. The problem is that the President isn't helping his party any with his lame ideas.

Well, because we are used to the cheap labor. And that lower class in the other country eventually makes it here to be our lower class. It's like a cheap labor farm. I'm sorry but the lack of resources allocated to securing the borders, leads me to believe that we are encouraging this long standing tradition with the motive being greed and habit. Not to mention the multi-billion dollar drug trade this is encouraging. I don't buy the incompetence plea.

Yes I am aware of all these facts. And when video of illegal immigrants scampering across is broadcast all over the world: osama is aware as well. And all osama has to do is put on a sombrero and come right in like it was his house. All the money spent on home land security has been wasted because of this. This should have been the first thing post 9/11. This should be off the evening news till something is resolved. I agree with the americanpatrol.com video. The security force needs to be a third party.

I know it can't be fixed by one leader, but it's going to take someone that is willing to clean up the current system and piss off a lot of people. Kind of like what Rudy Giuliani did for NYC.
We cant wait for Congress or the President anymore. I think this should be a Texas, Arizona and New Mexico coordinated state plan. And they should hire a third party security force.

Or maybe we should have invaded Mexico instead of Iraq. Set up a new government that takes care of their people and take care of this once and for all. Mexico is not a poor country.
