Re: Worst movies ever?

Oh, so many bad movies....

Weekend At Bernie’s
Grease (I hate this movie so much)
Stop or My Mom Will Shoot
Red Dawn
Speed 2
The English Patient (DIE ALREADY)

I hear Plan 9 From Outer Space is probably the worst movie ever but I've never seen it.

Heh... You hit on my top two most hated movies and favorite books! Battlefield Earth and Starship Troopers should never have been release to the public in the state they're in...

Ishtar was widely accepted as the worst movie of all time until Battlefield Earth came out, but I liked it. Maybe I'm biased, though, as that's the only film that my uncle has acted in (he also was the bird trainer for the film).

I don't see how Traffic, Grease, or Red Dawn can be listed in this thread. They may not be your thing, but they certainly don't belong in the "worst movie ever" category.

That's another movie I liked.

Of course, it was mocked by a MST3K-style live show at the allmighty Alamo Drafthouse (click link for 'their' trailer) here in Austin, so I'm still cool.

But man, that movie was god awful.
If you mute the sound and fast-forward through the parts with clothes, it's not bad.

Yeah, I have to agree here. Gina Gershon kissing another hot chick should automatically remove this movie from this list

Most certainly not RED DAWN!!! "It was 5 to 1...I got 4!"
One of my favorite movies growing up in the 80s.

Re: Worst movies ever?

Yeah, Red Dawn simply kicks arse. WOLVERINES!!!

I've saw Plan 9 from Outer Space when I was 13 or so. It's definitely bad but it's hard to kick a movie when you KNOW it's going to be terrible. It gets points for the unintentional comedy.

Exactly!!
A lot of B grade movies from the 50s I just can't help but watch...they are the classics! THEM, The Thing, War of the Worlds, The Day the Earth Stood Still....on and on.

My dad and I would watch them on Saturday afternoon and we developed criteria...
1) Must have monsters
2) Must have guns
3) Must have babes

The only paradigm shift was Starship Troopers...*sigh*

Re: Worst movies ever?

I like Starship Troopers just fine. It doesn't bug me a bit...no pun intended. It's just campy fun and isn't completely boobless.

Try watching it after suffering through an hour of Antiques Roadshow or Fix This Appliance or Scrub This Floor on TLC. It's freaking fantastic then...

Dune blew sandy chunks.

JFK blew brainy chunks over and over again.

Re: Worst movies ever?

Red Dawn is like Knight Rider. I loved it when I was 11. Not so much at 21. Love the ideas and all, but that's really flat acting on top of really bad writing.

Agreed re: Weatherman. I gave up 30 minutes in.

Re: Worst movies ever?

The new sci-fi channel Dune and Children of Dune weren't that bad at all. The old Dune sucked.
