Great story JMJ - was really fun to read. I've never had quite that bad of neighbors, but some that come close. Why can't people keep their pets under control? Sheesh.

The seasons change, but the crappy neighbors are still the same. Everyone has had it with them now, they are bringing down the value of all the surrounding homes. In less than 1 year they completely trashed what was a beautiful house. They trashed it from front to back, I can't imagine what the inside looks like. So why am I updating this today? Because the beagle attacked a jogger today and I almost got to OC his ass, and because Marmaduke is destroying the house. They leave for hours on end and chain Marmaduke up outside to one of the supports for their porch. Take a look at this image:

Notice anything wrong? Marmaduke is customizing the porch for them. They are not home and their front door is wide open too. Oh well, it's too bad I live in a nice neighborhood...if I didn't people would be walking right in with that invitation.

Here's 2 updated images of the backyard. The fences that have been down for more than 1 year now (he's a carpenter), and just the general disaster that is their backyard.

What do houses in that neighborhood sell for with a yard like that? In the Dallas area, that would go for around $200k, while in San Diego, you could probably get around $800k for it. (before it was trashed...)

They paid $309k for the house over a year ago.

My wife and I are just sick. Today I chased the dog with a can of OC because I wanted to spray that damn beagle so bad. Of course, he ran from me. The husband came home today and I was outside, believe it or not I didn't hear him say a thing, I thought he would scream at the dog but he didn't. He loaded Marmaduke in the vehicle and I thought for sure he was going to be dumped off somewhere. No such luck, marmaduke was back 3 hours later barking in the front yard

We are going for the jugular now, we are going to do whatever it takes to get them out of here. Report the dogs, trash violations, you name it. Enough is enough, we are going to take our neighborhood back.

Not all neighborhoods have homeowners associations, usually only "planned" neighborhoods. I wouldn't live in one of those if you paid me, too many rules to follow and too many restrictions on what you can do with your own house and land. Not to mention in many places you can't have a boat.
