oh yeah, RANT ON (or, "I wish my neighbors would hurry up and die") - Page 47

we had some neighbors 2 houses down from where we used to live that as soon as they moved in, there was this hideous odor, especially at night...at least 4 or 5 nights a week. most everybody knows each other and we all gathered up to figure out what was going on. one day after several weeks, the "nosy busy-body" of the block decided to go over there and meet them and see what she could see..turns out no one that came to the door spoke any english, but she said they looked like gangster off of a TV show...

about 6 weeks after they (and we could never get an accuracte count on just how many there was living there) moved in, the DEA and assorted local police types swooped down and took everyone away. turns out they had turned this lovely older house into a meth lab. we are lucky it did not blow up the whole block. was a LK "cell" apparently and they had gone into production on overtime...

glad it was over with before anything realy "bad" happened...

Ok, I know sequels never live up to their originals (except maybe Godfather II), but, I did say "to be continued" and there has been a lot of new information over the last six months.

So, in tradition of my first musical summary in this post, here is yet another lyrical overview of events since my last musing (with some old favorites in there as well). I do not claim it is as good as the first, nevertheless, Ladies and gentlemen of TG, I present to you:

The Old Tenement
(Sung to the tune of "The Old Apartment" by the Barenaked Ladies)

Broke into the old tenement
This is where we used to live
Broken mailbox, broken railing
Broken marriage and broken dreams
This is where we used to live

Did you see the red and black walls?
Did you see the plywood floor?
Did you see the scratches Marmaduke made in the door?
This is where we used to live

You can't keep the good appliances!
You can't keep the pedestal sink!
These things used to be mine
I guess they still are, I took them back

Broke into the old tenement
No more electricty or heat
Crooked fence, crooked x-mas bulbs
My whole family are all crooks.
This is where we used to live.

Why should I mow the lawn?
Why did they put on a padlock?
Why should I have to break in, I only came here to stalk
This is where we used to live

How is my neighbor JMJ?
How is his blood pressure these days?
I used to let Marmaduke bark and crap on his lawn just for fun

I know we don't live here anymore
We bought another house and have new neighbors
We'll destroy it like we did this one before
Now JMJ is happier
But this is where we used to live

Broke into the old tenement
Tore a whole door frame out of the wall
Left only trash, a lot of trash
Blending into the weeds, oh!

I want to move back!
I want to move back!

And as far as sequels never living up to their originals, what about the James Bond series? There are plenty of sequels in there that are better than the original (Dr. No in 1962), such as Thunderball, Goldfinger, The Living Daylights, Live and Let Die, etc, ad nauseam.

However, I do have to complement loyal on his hard work in putting together another very awesome parody!
