Agreed. Australia just can't seem to make the shots on goal pay off, but it has been a very entertaining first half.

To quote one of the commentators on the ref: "Some of the decisions do seem to be a bit of pot luck."

^^^^Was the 2002 World Cup just a fluke or something? This is not the team that as in Korea/Japan.

Edit: Czech is something else. They are going places.

Two interesting games so far....hopefully the Italy v. Ghana game will be a good one as well.

Australia deserved the 3 points....The goal that Japan scored should have been disallowed..neither of the Japanese players made an attempt on the ball. Australia was the better team....Kewell looked poor for Australia.

The US was embarassing....no effort or intensity. What did Arena say to them before the match??...take it easy out there??? He's a joke as well. Our back four was poor...Onyewu is too slow and Pope was outmuscled...especially on the Koller's goal. And how do you stand off Rosicky for the second?? He's freaking world class and you let him shoot without pressuring him??? Third goal was a thing of beauty.

Very disappointing performance by the US...Freaking Landon Donovan was no where to be seen...he's very soft..but he already proved that by not staying in Germany to play...

I'd start McBride and Eddie Johnson up top next match with Reyna and Donovan in the middle against Italy. Maybe Donovan can be dangerous going forward from a midfield position..lord knows he sucked today.
