The Germany vs Poland game was incredible. I figured Poland would squeek out a tie and hold off the onslaught despite being down to 10 men. I lost it when Germany hit the crossbar twice in a matter of seconds. The goal was very nice, incredible cross.

Time to pack up and go home for the boys. Once again we lacked an offense, but at least we put up somewhat of a fight. That red card killed us. I really thought we would squeak through that with a tie and still have a glimmer of hope.

That double crossbar probably gave some people heart attacks

. The dissapointment could be seen on the faces of the fans following the game, and I share that pain.

I was really hoping someone would knock Klose out of commision, but in the end neuville proved to be the nail in the coffin. Jelen played well, i'm glad they put him in for the majority of the game this time, a shame they put him in so late against ecuador.

Guess it's time to drown the sorrow

Boruc was clearly man of the match...Celtic needs to be sure and keep him for as long as they can. Although a move to Arsenal would make me very happy...I think Jens only has one year left.

Great moves by Klinnsmann....Poland's back four performed admirably..but they were out of gas and simply could not keep up with Odonkor and Neuville.

I think Podolski will have a big match next game...if he gets hot and Klose can keep up his good play Germany might advance farther than most think.

Great games today.

Oh yea,, Spain looked very good today as well...but that was a terrible red card/penalty decision.

^^^^Alright guys we need to make Polska feel better.

All jokes aside that game was intense and I loved every min of it. After I go through some of my DVD rentals I want to watch it again. The goal post part definately gave me a heart attack atleast. That was so funny yet so scary at the same time.

Also Poland has nothing to be sad about they did a great job. So much hype for this match and it delivers the goods. (Unlike a certain team I care not to mention.)

I only got to see the England Trinidad 2nd half.

I'm not going to pretend I wasn't cheering on Trinidad. They did a really good job against England and I wish they had at least scored.

Rooney makes a huge psychological difference to the England team. Maybe it's the fact that the fans were cheering harder or maybe England really need him but they picked up the tempo when he came on.

^^^I have generally been going for the underdogs in this one. Not only would it be cool to have a new team get far but it would help the popularity of soccor. (I demand that next World Cup all 6.5 billion people are watching or paying attention to the world cup.) I want whole countires to stop working when their team has a WC match.

England had a terrible performance vs Trinidad and Tobago. It was the so called "mismatch of the tournament", and England should have handidly won by 3 or 4 goals. Instead it was a scoreless tie for ~83 minutes. The crossing was bad and nobody could get a ball on frame to save their lives. Considering they had a tough time against Paraguay as well, i really think theyre gonna lose once they have to play a team that actually knows how to play soccer. Im kind of rooting against England because it just seems like another one of those teams that are full of stars, but they cant amount to anything because they're arrogant and overpaid. Same thing happened to the US basketball team in the last summer olympics.

absolute rubbish, sorry, but there have been no convincing wins in this world cup apart from spain and argentina. and the mismatch was brought about by people who did not look at the oposition.

trinidads goalkeper was an FA cup finalist. out of the whole squad, 10 of the 11 feilded played in top european teams... dwight yorke who caused soo many problems himself was a Man united player until 3 years ago and he still played in the premiership till recently. not to mention trinidad held sweeden to a 00 draw... the swedes are an excelent side, and they too only got a 1-0 against paraquay... sorry but when razil look as bad as they doo and at lease England has qualified by their 2nd game...

trinidad played a blinding game... and the tempo picked up when rooney came on because rooney was being man marked by 5 different players. trinidads defense fell apart because they were scared of him. and i wont take anything away from trinidads defense who held england at bay by saying it was because we played badly, because that was not true. short sharp passing, and long lobs whatever we tried trinidad had their defense and most of the midfield there to stop it.

Gah I woke up late again. I missed Argentina vs Serbia and Montenegro. It would appear S&M was slaughtered. Argentina scored 6 goals.
