Re: The OFFICIAL TG FIFA World Cup 06 Predictions/discussion/hype thread

Despite some dodgy referee decisions, Angola just held Mexico to a 0-0 draw.

Both teams were outstanding with their defence, but neither side could find an opening. Both keepers certainly earned their pay.

Alright I missed the first game again (DVR I love you so much) but Portugal won 2-0 and right now it is the Czechs vs Ghana and it is currently 1-0. Ghana scored a goal in the first 2 min of the game.

God the US sucks. I have no hope for there game against Italy.

Re: The OFFICIAL TG FIFA World Cup 06 Predictions/discussion/hype thread

The announcers are really letting the refs have it for all these cards. The Italian card was well deserved.. The first US card was absurd.. Multiple blown offside cards.

Sure wish this game was on ESPN or The Duece.. Comcast gives us crappy quality ABC.

The first US red card was defensible but the second one was not even a yellow!

For the Italians, they should be ashamed of their team, their play and their behaviour.

I am pissed off. Seems that the refs reach for yellow against Italy, and Red against the US. Both cards were not defensible.

Re: The OFFICIAL TG FIFA World Cup 06 Predictions/discussion/hype thread

Im honestly wondering if the referee was bribed at all. I mean they have had a scandal in the Italian clubs about teams like Juventes bribing the referees. Whats to say the Italian national team isnt doing it? Even if thats not the case, this referee should never be allowed to referee another international game, and maybe not any club games. It was abysmal and inconsistent.

Ok, now I see that Eddie Pope's red card was actually his 2nd yellow, so that call wasn't as bad as I first thought.

That was a pretty wacky game but USA deserved to get the tie.

Yes, that's true....but he didn't realize that he had already given Pope a yellow in the first half. You could see that as he was actually booking Pope for the yellow he realized what he had just done was completely wrong....Reyna let him know as well...

Much better performance by the US...It's difficult to tell it the US would have won had it stayed 11 v. 11...but I think it would have been a very close game...We were playing much better than Italy until we received our red cards.

That ref. horrible...he shouldn't get another game.

Next Thursday should be interesting.

You know what I like about how the US played? Down to 9 men, and they did not fold, they just kept attacking. If McBride got that shot in, he would have been an effing hero.

Re: The OFFICIAL TG FIFA World Cup 06 Predictions/discussion/hype thread

The only way we can advance now is to beat Ghana and hope that Italy beats the Czecks. Italy certainly has a chance against them since Ghana was able to do it. Question: Is Jan Koller injured and out of the tournament? I kinda hope so...
