Re: Are the Bush Administration policies conservative?

Methinks it's not that simple.

The easy death of domestic policies and an easy 2004 re-election pitch (don't change horses in the middle of a race) were tremendous incentives for taking the country to war in Iraq. Add in the economy and 60% of the country pushing for a fight, and you don't even need WMD's.

I believe that he's a non-leader, deceived by his own advisors, and that history is already holding him in rather low esteem - at least if you believe that historical record is judged by historians, of which 81% of 415 polled indicated that so far his presidency would be judged as a failure - second only to the Nixon presidency (17%) or second to none (15%).

I can name several failed and/or abandoned domestic Bush policies - no child left behind, privatizing social security, Medicare plan-D, DHS/FEMA and Katrina, ongoing immigration floundering and renewed tax cuts in the face of a deficit currently projected to hit $477 billion. Oh, and the latest defense of marriage 'act.'

Should all of this be written off as casualties of war, or are there an outnumbering amount of successes that I have left out?

Methinks the hardware store is running low on shovels.
And methinks your correlation between leadership and polls is frightening. They are actually almost completely unrelated.

Re: Are the Bush Administration policies conservative?

I am being critical of partisan pundits and apologists with that statement.

And leading requires lots of decisions. That's why he's... The Decider.
