I wonder what Joel Siegel thought baout Godfather II, one of the greatest films of all time, which has a scene it where a "virgin" is dragged forward by slave girls dressed in black and tied to a post. A 'superman' is also brought forward by two other woman and thrown on the ground in front of the "virgin". We all know what happens next.

(No, I am not claiming Clerks is on par with Godfather II, just that what is good for the goose...")

Okay. I bought the original Clerks on Laserdisc back in 1994 when it was released. A friend of mine had been telling me about this great indy movie that was coming out so I gave it a shot. It was certainly not a mistake to spend the ~$50 on the laserdisc.

Last night I went to see Clerks II. I couldn't stop laughing. This is probably the best squel I have ever seen for any movie. I can't even describe how badly all of you need to go see this movie. It should be a manditory life event. In any case, much like the first, you will not regret spending a few bucks to go see this in the theatre. Even two or three times.

He did... but he made a sequel as part of an agreement with Jason Mewes (Jay). Smith told Jason if he got cleaned up, he would write another movie for him to play Jay one last time. It also explains why Jay looks so different in the movie; he's no longer strung out on heroin.

Indeed, He also stated that he had intended to be done with it, but doing the work on the Clerks anniversary video reminded him how much he loved the characters and why he started making movies in the first place.

A few months back, Kevin posted the saga of Jason Mewes' additions and his 5 year battle to get clean. It's a long read, but worth it.

I read all 9 parts, and it was really facinating. Thanks for the linkage.

Just saw this tonight. I was satisified. Not blown away but satisfied. There are some really funny parts, but Smith's sappiness comes through a lot, too. I love Rosario Dawson. She did a good job meshing her good acting with everyone else's crappy acting.

If you liked Clerks 1 you'll like Clerks 2, as long as you don't get your expectations ridiculously high.
