Re: Middle East tactical analysis

Interesting but a bit lacking in historical and political precedence - though the site doesn't claim to take that into account. Tactical discussion only. It won't be that kind of war. Syria will not make the mistake of attacking Israel again or it will lose its entire arsenal again. Furthermore, Syria doesn't actually want to start a war with Israel. What they want to do is exactly what they are doing - funneling weapons to Hezbollah over the Syrian/Lebanese border. We Americans know lots about fighting proxy wars, right? They work, right?

Re: Middle East tactical analysis

I think they say it's open source. Maybe you should add that.

FWIW I think having 150,000 troops, a zillion vipers and apaches, artillery pieces, and tanks to their east is having a mitigating effect on Syrian policy decisions. That and the fact that Israel could destroy every piece of Syrian armor in short order.

Some interesting recent discussion about how Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan have all been very cool to support Hezbollah in this matter. Point was that these Sunni nations see a strategic threat from Persian Iran and the Shiite encroachment into Arab territory.

Busy busy busy

Re: Middle East tactical analysis

On the other hand, this would probably get Syria smack in the crosshairs.
