I don't think that applies as much in the US. Most Americans don't have a clue about first aid or CPR.

Re: Next time you get pulled over for speeding,

It's good that you guys have to go through that kind of training. There's nothing like that at all here. It's all about driving and being able to drive a specific way in traffic. The bad part is nobody drives the same after getting certified. It's an inefficient way of driving but it has to be done for the test. It would be nice to see it all change with more concentration on driving safely with traffic and how to handle emergency situations.

Or maybe it boils down to people obeying the laws and allowing the professionals (cops, EMTs) to do their job without getting in the way.

Pulling off the side of the road and getting out of your car is not always the right thing to do, especially if you put anybody else's life in danger because of your actions.

But I think it boils down to whether or not people care enough to stop. Regardless of what is the norm (and the norm here, in the UK, seems to be to drive on by), are you the sort of person that is prepared to leave others to their own fate or are you the sort of person that stops to help those who need it.
you see jex clearly says in the uk there but strangely you and cingular duality had trouble bringing your mouse curser over that. hmmm sense of hypocracy considering you like to quote state rules, but ok.

Quote:
Here we have a written, hazard and driving test. We were going through the test book and at the end was a whole section on first aid going over shock, ABC (airways, breathing, circulation), prioritising casualties, what you should do when you see an accident, etc.
then we draw attention to this, and in light of being told quite rudly before by others how the law states there "so i cant comment on that" (or words to that effect not by wolfie though) you still go on about breaking the law, well same rules apply then,

and as jex was describing we do recieve training on multiple casualties and that material, so why dont some of us start taking a leaf from our own book and stop misquoting so that you seem right.

yes well taking something out of context for the sake of making a point when it clearly says the oposite is as nflamatory as my post, so bring it on.

Re: Next time you get pulled over for speeding,

I give you one merit for how disturbing that video was. It amazes me how many idiots there are on the road. If you look, the mustang was driving full speed in the median lane before it hit the van. You can also see it's airbags deploy. Scary stuff.

Re: Next time you get pulled over for speeding,

Scary to be in the middle of that...

That is one of my fears... the construction warnings and lane closure stuff here in Connecticut on I-95 is so abbysmal that could be any average night here....
(I swear the state has made a cost/benefit analysis and figure they can lose a few drivers....)

Re: Next time you get pulled over for speeding,

Man, I love these, the one with the arrested driver and 2 other Troopers, I'm not sure if the driver died but you can see his head slam the hood of the car...he isn't moving after but maybe he's just unconcious.

Oh yea, if anyone else has more crashes or worse ( ), pm me the links.

Re: Next time you get pulled over for speeding,

Hmmm... Well that is one reason why I don't want to be a patrol officer
