Re: Republican Congressman accused of pederasty

Well I said this was going to happen and sure enough it has.

ABC ONLINE GLITCH LEADS TO IDENTITY OF FOLEY ACCUSER

Anyone who's watched these things for a while should have known this was coming. The people you condemn for covering up Foley's behavior, I'm sure, are experienced enough to know this was coming. The people who are demanding to know what they knew and when are also experienced enough to know this was coming. They just didn't care all that much.

Also, the extremely salacious sex chat was....ba badda ba buh ba BAH

Not with a minor. Still gross. Still worthy of being drop-kicked to FL. But not illegal.

ABC News now has obtained 52 separate instant message exchanges, which former pages say were sent by Foley, using the screen name Maf54, to two different boys who began their exchanges with Foley at the age of 16 and 17, and continued through the age of 18.

This message was dated April 2003, at approximately 7 p.m., according to the message time stamp at a time when the teen had been 18 for just six weeks. (Some sharp online readers spotted that the boy was technically legal when the exchange took place).

And none of the facts that condradict your position will make change your extraordinarily biased and partisan opinion.

I don't have a "position" or "opinion" on this issue. Every single news agency is presenting facts that the House Leadership knew about this and did nothing.

Re: Republican Congressman accused of pederasty

Are they also presenting information that the Democratic leadership knew about it and did nothing? How about information that the FBI knew about it and did nothing?

Yes, thats right, someone thought the E-mails suspicious enough to forward them to the FBI. After looking them over, they decided there was nothing to go on, and let the matter drop.

Notice also that the IMs in question are around 3 years old. The republican leadership didn't know about them until just last week, but somebody sure did...and they sat on them for 3 years until it was most convenient to use them to try to destroy not only the ONE person responsible for them, but anyone else unlucky enough to be standing nearby at the time.

Re: Republican Congressman accused of pederasty

I watched the CBS Morning show and they had two party campaign advisor like persons from both major parties and I was a little surprised.

From what I heard the Republican Congress is turning their back on Hasert. Both persons said that he should resign. This is huge!!
Also, the only one who has Hasert's back is President Bush. Man that guy is a lame duck.

Is Hasert being booted by the admins of Washington? Looks like it.

Re: Republican Congressman accused of pederasty

That's my main man Borat.

www.drudgereport.com is reporting that the whole Foley IMs were a joke that got out of hand. The fact that the page has hired Timothy McVeigh's atty is an interesting choice. This could get really entertaining.

EDIT:
Quote:
XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX THU OCT 5 2006 2:53:48 ET XXXXX

CLAIM: FILTHY FOLEY ONLINE MESSAGES WERE PAGE PRANK GONE AWRY
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**

According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.

According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.

The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.

The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.

The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.

Developing...
We'll see.

Re: Republican Congressman accused of pederasty

All told, this is a very deep rabbit hole, and I'll bet there's a lot of people on both sides of the aisle who don't really want to see what lies at the end of it.

Speaker Hastert has called for a full investigation into the matter. Any bets on whether that will actually take place?

Re: Republican Congressman accused of pederasty

I am not making any wagers. I am 50/50 on Hastert's termination.

My question is: Is he up for reelection?

Cause if so... good luck with that.
