I'm all for a good laugh and all, but isn't that premature of the artist, yet? Isn't.... someone.... still investigating who exactly compromised the privacy? Can we agree that an individual (the kid, the parent, the janitor, the Evil Democrat Political Operative (TM), etc, whomever) making those private communications public (for whatever reason, legally or not) is very, very different than (and arguably irrelevant within the context of) objections to the government itself making private communications non-private?

And isn't that cartoon alarmist, sensational, and unfair to whatever degree that we can agree on that?

Anyway, this guy was 21 at the time, so its not technically illegal, though it may still count as sexual harassment.

It seems to me that Republicans want everyone else to take responsibility for their actions, but when it comes to one of their own, their motto is: Blame Democrats or anyone else. Hastert blamed "liberals" for his role, Mr. Morality Newt "Divorced Two Times" Gingrinch said Democratic sex scandals are worse than Republicans, then could not cite any such Democratic scandals. The usual one Republicans cite - Monica - involved adults.

Others tried to divert attention by citing Gerry Studds, who in 1983 was censured by the House for having sex with a 17-year old page. Republican researchers had to go back to '83 to find a Democratic politician who preyed on underage teens. As usual, Republicans who bring up Studds have a selective memory, as in '83 Daniel Crane of IL admitted to having an affair with a 17 year old female page.

The evidence shows that there have been more Republican pedophiles than Democratic ones. For every Studds that the Republican hypocrites bring up there are probably five or six Republicans arrested or convicted in recent years for sexually preying on underaged boys or girls.

To cite a few:

-Texas Republican Carey Lee who was sentenced in June 2006 to six years for molesting two 8 year old girls.
-New York Republican County Chairman Armando Tebano of New York who was arrested in June 2006 and charged with sexually molesting a 14 year old girl
-Tom Adams, Republican Mayor of a city in Illinois, who was arrested for distributing child pornography
-Republican human resources director of the Washington Times Randall Casseday who was arrested in Sept 2006 for solitican on the Internet with a 13 year old girl
-Waterbury, Conn. Republican Mayor Philip Giordanoe who is now serving 37 years in prison for sexually abusing two girls 8 and 10 in 2003
-REpublican chairman of the Oregon Christian Coalition Lou Beres admitted in a police report that in a lawsuit in March 2006 that he molested a 13 year old girl
-Former Republican Constable Larry Dale Floyd who won elections in Denton County, Texas was arrested and charged with sexual solicitation of an 8 year old girl
-Former Republican Monroe County, PA judge Mark Pazuhanich pleaded no contest in '04 to fondling a 10 year old girl.
-Republican former New Jersey city councilman John Collins pleaded guilty in 2005 to sexually molesting two teen-age girls.
-Republican Marty Glickman of Florida, one of those rabid dog conservative talk radio commentators who rail on about the lack of morals, was arrested in 2001 and charged with giving drugs like LSD and money to underaged girls in exchange for sex

Sadly, there are more. Certainly, a sorry list for sure, and usually not cited when the hypocrites get to writing and hitting the airwaves.

Don't know if this has been said yet but I think it's funny how Mark Foley is against same sex marraige, but he's all for having sex with male adolescents.

Anyways I was a cameraman last friday doing a televised interview for my school and we asked someone what they thought of the Mark Foley scandal.

"I think he was Foley errect!"

Needless to say, I couldn't hold the camera straight due to laughing so hard, thus rendering the footage, mostly useless.

Joke about what is, not about what's not. Moving towards the latter has its place, but only when the humor itself acknowledges, on some level, that you are, in fact, joking about what's not. That's all I'm saying. When you use humor to make an argument that is plainly not supportable, it's not good humor.
