Re: South Park does World of Warcraft
Seriously, Matt and Trey must be into gaming, big time.
Pwned? Noob? LOL. They we're even talking about teamspeak! "Dad, get out of our teamspeak channel!" |

Re: South Park does World of Warcraft
IIRC, when they went to talk to the designers about making south park the game on PC, they knew exactly what they wanted it to be and were able to describe it. Apparantly there are gamers.

Re: South Park does World of Warcraft
“I got to get home, my kids are playing World of Warcraft right now”
“Jim…your kids’ characters are already dead” “No…No, they just started playing” Man this was a great episode. So do you really need a mutual agreement to fight each other, and are there characters whose level is really, really high, as in way too high (aka “Mr. I have no life)? Man every time I see a clip from WOW, I really want to purchase this game. |

Re: South Park does World of Warcraft
Ya they made the game look really good, almost good enough to play. Isn't the PVP really lacking in the game? Do you lose anything when you get killed?

Re: South Park does World of Warcraft
Someone asked me how accurate this episode was in describing WoW and its players...but nobody I know who has played this game was ever heard from again, so I assume it's all speculation.

Re: South Park does World of Warcraft
ROFL!!!
Good plot. Butters ruled when he went into game. I loved the Comm link that Eric had with his mom. That really came in handy when the blank hit the fan. Say what you want about Eric being a lazy spoiled punk kid, but man, do not become his enemy, because you will be destroyed. I am afraid of the child Eric, but am Terrified by the adult Eric in any form. Being Authoritive or other. He must be stopped!!! Luckily he is a cartoon.

Re: South Park does World of Warcraft
I play WoW (though not on the TG server), so I can answer questions you have about the game. I tend to venture outside once in a while to socialize. :P
Quote:
A PvE server is where players are there to fight the monsters, and PvP is limited to dueling (agreed upon fighting, no death, fight to low health), fighting in the game world between "flagged" characters (you enable yourself to be attacked), and Battlegrounds (areas within the game that you have capture the flag style competition). A PvP server is where most of the game world, aside from certain newbie zones, is in open conflict; this means the two factions (alliance and horde) can freely attack each other. If you're in a "contested" zone, it's quite possible that a high level character decked out like a god can come by and kill your lowly self. Any server with an RP in front of it follows the same rules, but it's a Role-Playing server where you're expected to be in character, and not just some dude/dudette playing a game. As far as death, no, you don't lose items no matter where you die. When you die, if you're not resurrected you go to a graveyard, become a spirit and have to run back to your corpse to ressurect (rez). You can also rez at the graveyard itself, but for a penalty. You don't lose items when you die, but if you're killed by a monster your equipment suffers a durability loss that requires money to repair. The biggest inconvenience of death is the time spent to get to your corpse, and hefty repair bills if you die a lot. I play on a PvE server because I prefer to choose when I'm going to fight another player, rather than die a billion times in a row to some jerk while I'm trying to quest. Pretty accurate. Let's face it, internet anonymity = jackasses, regardless of the game. There are people that are helpful, but questions over the chat channels have an equal chance of being answered with "because you touch yourself at night" as they do with a real answer. You've also got the lolzors and wtfpwned people, but again, that goes with any game nowadays.
