Re: Hot Coffees effect on the mod scene

It's pretty telling that most people have absolutely no idea about programming or games other than "insert disk, click install."

I also find it stupid that the game is assaulted in these attacks when a kid of any age with unrestricted Internet access can download hardcore porn for free and see actual people having sex (among other things) rather than a combination of pixels.

Back on topic, when my Jedi Academy clan rented our server, there was a copy of the "Nude Jan" skin on the server (don't ask me how or why). It was a very well done nude model with great detail to all the female areas (I know this because I used it as a basis for a skin I did using the same model). Anyways, just by downloading this single skin, you could convert the game from a Teen rating to Mature.

So let's look at the similarities:
Porn is downloaded off the Internet.
The Nude Jan Skin is downloaded off the Internet.
The Hot Coffee Mod is downloaded off the Internet.

It almost looks that if you monitor your child's Internet, you can stop him/her from doing things you don't want them too. Oh, I'm sorry, that requires parenting. Instead, let's sue the gaming industry, that means less work for me. Oh yea, and violence is A-Ok. Sex is bad, mmkay?

yeah you could not be more right. Tons of my job as a librarian is supposed to be protecting children from somehow getting access to information they arent ready for. The real problem is their parents didnt have enough access to birth control. If they had I wouldnt have to worry about THEIR children. Same thing in any school. It only takes one kid whose parents arent paying attention at home to screw up a days learning for my kid.

You couldnt have said it any better....Parents today dont want to deal with their own kids. When they are in school its the teachers problems and when at home its TV and Interents makers problems.

If you cant raise them dont breed them
