Please Vote

I know there are other threads about it, but I just wanted to give a final reminder to go out and vote if you live in the United States. Every vote DOES make a difference, and apathy gets us nowhere as a country.

If Texas had a "All choices disgust me including the fact that I have to have this choice on the ballot" then I would.

Re: Please Vote

Even if you don't like either choice in certain votes, there are still a ton of ballot initiatives that are important. Michigan, for example, has a proposal to create an amendment prohibiting government from using eminent domain to take private property for the purpose of giving it to a developer (Public gain being tax growth from new business or houses).

Even if you don't like either person for a position, many other important things will be decided.

I will too. IMO, once the dream of actually "owning" the land your house is on is gone, then the American Dream is shattered.

Re: Please Vote

I refused to vote in the Ohio State elections. Not one single candidate actually put out there platforms and ideas for this state. They all just bashed each other, if you don't believe me i can find some commercials on Youtube. I spent more time on the net looking at candidates info and bios then i should have to to make an educated decision on voting.

Its come down to making bad ads about your opponent and relying the uneducated voter to get you into office. Yes i realize this is a stupid attitude, but i wasn't registered to vote in this county of Ohio and i dint want to drive 4 hours to vote for stupid candidates

Re: Please Vote

Like Lucky said, this isn't just about candidate v. candidate. There are many referendums and amendments which are deserving of you attention. So whether you like any of the candidates or not, it's still important that you vote.

Re: Please Vote

In all seriousness, I think it may be a good idea to have a "I vote for no one" box. This would allow a distinction between people who are not voting because they can't be bothered and people who are not voting out of protest.
